India beat England by 7 wickets in their first warm-up game of the T20 World Cup on Monday at ICC Cricket Academy Ground in Dubai. Chasing the target of 189 runs, KL Rahul (51) and Ishan Kishan (70) added 82 runs for the first wicket that set the tone for the Virat Kohli-led team. Kishan continued to bat aggressively till the end before he retired and Suryakumar Yadav came out to bat in place of him. Towards the end Rishabh Pant and Hardik Pandya played quickfire knocks to guide India to victory. It was a great performance from the Indians as they made light work of a big target. Earlier bowling first, Mohammed Shami scalped 3 wickets, but quickfire knocks from England's middle-order batsmen took Jos Buttler's side to an imposing total of 188 runs. Jonny Bairstow top scored with 49 runs while Moeen Ali stayed unbeaten on 43.
Woakes to Rahul, FOUR to finish off the over. He got 18 runs from that over from Chris Woakes who has been backed as the best bowler for England going in this T20 World Cup.
Ishan Kishan is opening the batting along with KL Rahul in the absence of Rohit Sharma. Both the players had a great last match in IPL. Kishan needs to play a very special knock to get his place in the final XI when the main matches will start and Rohit Sharm will comeback.
OUT!! BOWLED!! Shami has dismissed Livingstone and broke a good partnership. This was his third wicket tonight where everyone rated Bumrah and Bhuvneshwar ahead of him.
Ashwin to Bairstow, reverse sweep and FOUR. Bairstow will be a vital cog in England's middle-order if he bats at No.4. Team need him to perform in the middle-order and he got a very good opportunity today.
Rahul Chahar to Bairstow, FOUR, to extra cover region. Two back-to-back boundaries for Jonny Bairstow. He is not opening but making the most of the opportunity he got at No.4.
Another boundary from Buttler, straight down the ground. Poor length from Shami and the way Buttler played that shot it looked so easy against a top-class international bowler.
