The beautiful TPC at Summerlin played host to half of the field at the Frys.com Open on Friday. The 16th hole played well for several players. Tom Pernice Jr was one of them, who sank a pretty curving eagle to go to 12 under par.Robert Damron also eagled on the hole, putting in from beyond the fringe. The eagle helped Damron to a round of 66 and nine under par going into Saturday.Damron and the rest of the field spent the day chasing D A Points.Points shot a nearly flawless round that included seven birdies, two of which came on the final two holes after great iron shots. He sat at the top of the leaderboard for most of the day and enters the third round in first place at 14 under par.Eric Axley was also worth watching, if only for his fashion choice.Axley, clad in blue plaid pants and a pastel yellow shirt, shot a solid round of 67, one better than his opening score on Thursday.Duffy Waldorf could not match his 65 first round, but stayed in contention with a four-under 68 that put him at 10 under.Waldorf would be tied with Bill Haas at the end of the day. Haas shot five birdies on the back nine to push himself up the leaderboard.Aaron Baddely was forced to go inside midround. After a nice approach on the 10th hole, Baddely and the rest of the field were forced off the course by inclement weather. Baddely would come out to birdie the hole and finish a round of 65, two strokes behind the leader points. (AP)
