Alphonso Davies has extended his deal with Bayern Munich to 2030, the German club announced on Tuesday, with the Canada captain rebuffing reported interest from Spanish giants Real Madrid. Wing-back Davies, 24, has won five Bundesliga titles and the Champions League with Bayern but had been linked with a move to Real, as his contract was set to expire in the summer. Davies is currently out with a hamstring injury picked up in January and is not expected to return until late February.

Bayern sporting director Cristoph Freund said the deal "shows Bayern's status in international football and that Alphonso has found his sporting home in Munich."
For Canada, Davies has played 56 times, scoring 16 goals and took over as captain in 2024.
