...THE CHASE...

!
For Zimbabwe, they were inconsistent and looked inexperienced with the new ball. The new ball had a lot on offer but lacked discipline. Once the ball got soft, Afghanistan made most of it. Sikandar Raza and Sean Williams bowled in tandem in the middle phase but with not much support from the deck. However, the seamers came back strongly in their second spell, mainly Newman Nyamhuri who struck thrice and imbalanced the Afghanistan boat. Trevor Gwandu took two wickets and Richard Ngarava ended with one in his final ball of the spell. Zimbabwe have their worries with the bat. They need to show some character as this will not be an easy chase for them. Stay tuned.

That is an excellent batting performance from Afghanistan, but we feel they could have easily crossed the 300 mark with how they started. Sediqullah Atal and Abdul Malik were the heroes for Afghanistan. They laid a perfect platform for a big score. Malik fell after a well made 84 but Sediqullah Atal went onto notch his maiden century. Afghanistan then lost three wickets in quick succession before Shahidi helped Afghanistan crawl close to 290.
