West Indies cricket was rocked on Friday following the sensational revelation that opener Xavier Marshall and another player, Tonito Willett, have tested positive for banned drugs.
Both the players were part of the 32 probables from which the Stanford Superstars squad would be picked to play England in the $20 million Stanford 20/20 for 20 on November 1.
Chairman of the Caribbean Regional Anti-Doping Organisation (RADO) Dr Adrian Lorde told 'Midweek Nation' two players have flunked dope test. The West Indies Cricket Board CEO Donald Peters identified them as Marshall and Willett.
"Caribbean RADO was contracted to do the drug tests for the Stanford Superstars, as we were for the Stanford 20/20 (tournament). We did drug tests and there were two adverse analytical findings which is the equivalent to two positive tests," Lorde told the daily.
"I can't say who they are. I received the results myself. They had a number of the sample. That number was passed onto the Stanford management and then they would identify who that cricketer is. I didn't have the actual name," he added.
WICB is now mulling tough action against the players.
"They (the attorneys) are looking into the matter and will advise us on the course of action," Peters said.
"WICB has a zero-tolerance policy on drugs and the matter could come up to the disciplinary committee. We are looking at a time frame of two weeks," he added.
