Close on the heels of reports about Salman Khan buying an IPL team, his brother Sohail Khan on Friday revealed that promoters of the Twenty20 league were in touch with the actor, but he is yet to made up his mind on owning a side.
"The promoters of Indian Premier League were in touch with Salman since its inception but nothing concrete has come out so far," Sohail, who was here to promote his new movie "Kisan", told reporters.
"Even there is no IPL team available which Salman can own," he added.
When pointed out that there was a plan to increase the number of teams from nine to 11 in 2011 IPL, Sohail said, "Lets see what happens."
Sohail, however, ruled the possibility of Salman's rivalry with co-actor and Kolkata Knight Riders owner Shah Rukh Khan deepening because of his brother's intention of buying an IPL team.
Asked whether he is party to his elder brother's intention of associating with the IPL, Sohail said, "Personally I feel, celebrities should also promote other games like our national game hockey."
"If I get a chance to promote sports, I would promote football and swimming, because I am attached with these games from childhood," he said.
