David Williams Profile

A former wicketkeeper-batsman, West Indian David Williams played 11 Tests and 36 ODIs for his team. His dubious distinction of scoring seven ducks in 18 Test innings exposed his weakness with the willow. He had a quiet international debut in 1992, but showed glimpses of his talent with a 65 against England in 1997-98. However, the Trinidadian soon took to coaching and has been involved with the Trinidad and Tobago team since 2003. Two one-day titles and three four-day titles in four years showed he was an influential figure in the dressing room. Williams was appointed assistant coach to West Indies at the 2007 World Twenty20 in South Africa.
