A talented left-handed wicket-keeper batsman, Sameera de Zoysa is a fine prospect who began his first-class career with Kurunegala Youth Cricket Club before transferring to Ragama Cricket Club. Also, he was Sri Lanka's wicket-keeper in the Under-19 World Cup held in 2006 at home. A good top-order batsman in Twenty20 matches, 2008-09 season was his most significant one as he scored three half-centuries and a maiden century itself. When Sri Lanka's prime wicket-keepers will retire, Sameera will be one to watch out for. He was part of Uva Next, which won the inaugural edition of the Sri Lanka Premier League in 2012 and was also drafted in the T20 squad for the Champions League T20.
