A left-arm medium pacer and left-handed batsman, Sajidul Islam made his first-class debut for Barisal Division in 2005.
After some fine seasons in domestic cricket, Sajidul was handed a national cap in the 2008 Test series against New Zealand. Replacing the injured Syed Rasel, the youngster picked up two wickets on debut.
