Pakistan go into the first one-dayer against the West Indies on Wednesday in St Vincent high on confidence because of their performance in the series in India earlier this year. The team from the subcontinent know West Indies are on the back foot after being white washed by South Africa. But coach Bob Woolmer says the Caribbean side should not be taken easily and could bounce back to surprise Pakistan.High on moralePakistan's victory in the ODI series against India, coming on the heels of the drawn Test series was definitely a great morale booster for Bob Woolmer's side. But now the Pakistanis head to the West Indies and are confident that the momentum from the India series will definitely do them a world of good in the Carribean."The West Indies will be a tough tour for us just like the India tour was. But in the end, the four consecutive wins in the one-day series was great for the team and we will carry this with us to the West Indies because right now not only are our bowlers performing but so are our batsmen," said Arshad Khan, member, Pakistan Cricket Team.Focus on bowlersWhile Pakistan's batsmen were definitely among the runs in India, the key in the Carribean will once again be the bowlers.Shoaib Akhtar may have been left out due to controversial circumstances and Mohammed Sami may be out due to an injury, but the likes of Abdul Razzaq, injury returned Shabbir Ali and Rana Naved-ul Hasan are good enough to cause some serious damage."We still have good bowlers. The only difference is that we are now playing as a combined unit. Inzamam-ul-Haq has put the self belief back in the team and each player now knows that he has the confidence to do something," added Khan.Pakistan haven't won a Test series in the West Indies in nearly 47 years. But with the world at their feet and the confidence growing by the minute, history could just be re-written in the Caribbean.
