Netherlands vs West Indies 3rd ODI Highlights: Kyle Mayers and Shamarh Brooks hit their maiden ODI centuries as West Indies beat Netherlands by 20 runs in the third ODI to seal a 3-0 series win. Mayers hit 120, while Brooks finished unbeaten on 101 as West Indies posted 308/5. Then, despite half-centuries from Vikramjit Singh and Max O'Dowd, the Windies managed to bowl Netherlands out for 288, with debutant Shermon Lewis picking three wickets and Akeal Hosein and Hayden Walsh Jr sharing two scalps each. Netherlands threatened an upset with their openers putting on a 98-run stand, but Mayers capped off an all-round performance with the first wicket for West Indies. O'Dowd then put on another impressive stands with Musa Ahmed and Bas de Leede, but his 89-run knock went in vain as the middle order failed to stand up.

... THE RUN CHASE ...

!
Now then, Netherlands have not been at their best with the bat and West Indies have done exceedingly well with the ball. West Indies might be the favourites here to win, but we can not count Netherlands out of this one. They are truly capable of chasing this one down. Stay tuned for the second essay.

It was a disappointing bowling show from the Dutch. In the previous two games, it was their bowling that caused some kind of trouble, but they have failed to replicate the same here. They started on the right foot by grabbing the wicket of Shai Hope but post that they were not as disciplined. They gave away 24 runs in extras which included 16 wides and 4 no balls. In the middle phase, Aryan Dutt was the bowler who kept things quiet. There were a few LBW calls that did not go their way, but that was it. However, they did well to pull things back in the last 10 overs of the game. They grabbed 4 wickets and gave away 67 runs. Things could have gone a lot worse for the home side, but they still face a daunting task ahead of them. Other than, Pieter Seelaar, all the other bowlers grabbed a wicket each, but Aryan Dutt was definitely the pick of the bowlers.

After electing to bat first, West Indies decided to make a change in their batting order. Kyle Mayers was asked to open alongside Shai Hope. This change certainly did wonders for the visitors. Shai Hope and Kyle Mayers put on 58 runs together before losing Hope in the 12th over. Post that, Shamarh Brooks walked in and he along with Kyle Mayers stitched a partnership of 184 runs and guided West Indies close to a score of 250. However, Kyle Mayers notched his maiden century and perished soon after that. Shamarh Brooks went on till the end and he too scored a sublime ton and made sure to get West Indies across the 300-run mark. There were a few cameos in the middle, and that eventually helped West Indies to set a target of 309. But the first innings certainly belonged only to two people, Kyle Mayers and Shamarh Brooks. It's up to the bowlers now!

For the first time in the series, West Indies have batted first and have put on a stupendous show. Although they would feel they fell short of around 20 runs after the start they got. Nevertheless, they have still managed to put a healthy total on the board. It's been a good fightback from Netherlands. West Indies were well on course to make over 320 runs but the hosts have done well to pull things back towards the end and have restricted them to a score of under 310. The visitors will be the happier side going into the break.
