NED vs ENG, 2nd ODI, Highlights: Half-centuries from openers Phil Salt and Jason Roy powered England to an unassailable 2-0 lead in the ODI series against Netherlands. The Netherlands posted a solid 235/7 runs against a blistering England attack lead by David Willey and Brydon Carse on a rain-delayed day at the VRA cricket ground outside Amsterdam. But Salt's 54-ball 77 and Roy's 60-ball 73 helped set up England's chase, which Moeen Ali saw off with an unbeaten 42. For the Netherlands, Scott Edwards, with 78, played a skipper's innings which included three sixes and four fours after surviving an appeal for caught behind off the bowling of Adil Rashid shortly after taking the crease. Edwards was eventually run out after Willey removed the bails at the bowlers' end with a bull's-eye throw. Earlier, the Netherlands won the toss and elected to bat against England in the second ODI of the three-match series at the VRA Cricket Ground in Amstelveen. The toss was delayed due to wet outfield and the match was reduced to 41 overs per side. (SCORECARD)

Right then! England will be sensing another victory here! But we cannot count Netherlands out of this one just yet. An intriguing chase coming up. Can Netherlands defend this one? We will find out. Stay tuned for the second essay.

After electing to bat first, the Dutch were put under immense pressure early on. They lost top-order within a blink of an eye. But post that, the stand-in skipper, Scott Edwards and Bas de Leede put together 61 runs and did some damage repair. Bas de Leede perished after a fine start. Teja Nidamanuru walked in with some positive intent and Netherlands put up another good stand then. A much more aggressive one this time. However, Teja Nidamanuru also departed and failed to convert his start. Scott Edwards led from the front and scored a sublime 78. Logan van Beek and Shane Snater then played a few lusty blows in the end and guided Netherlands over the 230-mark. They might feel they feel short of around 30 runs here. It's onto the bowlers now. Netherlands will need something special to defend this target.

The visitors had the perfect start with the ball. They grabbed three wickets in quick succession and put Netherlands under the pump straightaway. They dominated the first Powerplay of the innings but lost their way a bit in the middle. They did not leak as many runs but failed to capitalize on the start they had got. A couple of partnerships in the middle phase swung the momentum towards Netherlands only for a bit. England made sure they came back stronger and took the wickets at the right time and did not let the game slip away from them. David Willey and Adil Rashid grabbed two wickets each, while Liam Livingstone and Brydon Carse took a wicket apiece. England have an opportunity here to seal the series.

End of an entertaining first half of the game! England will be the happier side of the two going into this break. A good finish though for Netherlands. They scored 43 runs in the last 4 overs and have put a respectable total on the board. Still, a tough task for them, considering the dangerous batting lineup England possesses.
