That is the end of our coverage of this match. Quite one-sided in the end as it was Afghanistan all the way. Tune in for our coverage of the second match of the day at 1930 IST. It will be a dead rubber as Hong Kong take on Scotland. Join us for that match.
HAMILTON MASAKADZA credits Afghanistan for outplaying Zimbabwe in all departments of the game. Says that his team's opponent never gave his side a chance in the game at any stage. States that none of Zimbabwe's plans went well from the beginning to the end.
ASGHAR STANIKZAI starts by thanking Allah for the win. Says that it was a huge match for Afghanistan considering the passion for the game back in his country. Says that he is happy with the team crossing the line. Praises Shahzad for the start and also the Nabi-Shenwari partnership for steadying things after the quick fall of wickets. Ends by passing a message to Afghan fans back home in his local language.
MOHAMMAD NABI (MAN OF THE MATCH) begins by thanking the Almighty. Adds he is very happy to perform in this game as it was a tough match and a crucial one for his team. Further says they got a perfect start as Shahzad was superb although they then lost quick wickets. Reveals that they decided that 150 was the winning target but opines that with wickets in hand, it's possible to get more runs.(When asked if he likes batting or bowling more as he is an all-rounder) Says that he would love to be a bowler on this kind of track.
On a dry track with lot of cracks, Afghanistan's spinners were mighty effective with Rashid Khan and Mohammad Nabi bowling exceptionally well with the former getting a 3-fer. Hamid Hassan too was brilliant in his spell as he picked up a couple of wickets. Only Shenwari and Dawlat were a bit expensive but it didn't affect Afghanistan as they had far too many runs on the board to defend. Nabi, Shenwari and Shahzad were the stars for Afghanistan earlier in the day as the Asian side racked up a big total that eventually proved to be too many for Zimbabwe.
So, a crushing win for Afghanistan as they storm into the Super 10 stage of the 2016 World T20. Chasing a mammoth 187 to win, Zimbabwe were never really in the game as they kept losing wickets at regular intervals. There weren't any partnerships at all from the African side as the pressure of a big total in a crunch game got to them. Nobody really got going as the Afghan bowlers strangled the scoring rate from start to finish.

Dawlat Zadran To Donald Tiripano OUT!
OUT! Run out! On a length and outside off, Tiripano cuts it towards point and sets off for a single. He is busy watching the ball instead of running. Samiullah comes running in, collects the ball and has a shy at the non striker's end. He hits and they all appeal. Replays show his bat was in the air when the ball hit the stumps.
Run out appeal is taken upstairs. It looks close!
