Right then, that is all we have from this game. United Arab Emirates ended up trumping Ireland in back-to-back matches and dealt a huge blow to Ireland's preparations for the upcoming T20 World Cup. Waseem Muhammad has been adjudged as the MAN OF THE MATCH for his brilliant knock of 107 runs off just 62 balls.
Earlier in the day, United Arab Emirates won the toss and elected to field first which ended up being a fruitful decision for them. Ireland were bogged down after a great opening stand between Paul Stirling and Kevin O'Brien and ended with a modest total of 134 runs. Waseem Muhammad came out with intent and scored 107 out of the 139 runs as the hosts ended up winning the match with ease.
Ireland, oh Ireland! First, they had that batting collapse in the first innings and then their bowlers were taken to the cleaners in the second by one man, Waseem Muhammad. Simi Singh struck in the second over and then Young picked up a wicket just before the end of the Powerplay but that was it. Each and every bowler after that was hit all over the ground and Ireland ended up losing it by a landslide. Young did get a consolation wicket in the end but it was already too late. They will be disappointed with that display as this is not what a team wants heading into the T20 World Cup.
It was the Waseem Muhammad show and he took the bull by the horns as he put up a scintillating batting display and went on to score a T20I century. UAE lost an early wicket but then Muhammad and Aravind steered the ship a bit. Aravind did fall just before the Powerplay ended but after that Waseem Muhammad decided to take matters into his own hands. Muhammad Usman supported him well and these two put on a terrific stand. Usman fell but the job was done and dusted.
United Arab Emirates have made a roaring comeback after a loss in the first match and Waseem Muhammad ends proceedings in style. They have trumped their opponents twice in a row and have clinched the series. Ireland will be thoroughly disappointed with that performance as they were completely hammered in this game.
