A rather one-sided affair. Sydney Thunder will be happy with the win. We shift our attention to the next game. On 28th December, Sydney Sixers will take on Melbourne Renegades at 1345 IST (0815 GMT). Do join us early for the build up. Till then, goodbye and cheers!
Matthew Gilkes is the Player of the Match. He says they haven't done well, they were close in many games but it is nice to get back to winning ways. Adds it was frustrating not to score but he worked hard and it worked. Shares it was a nice wicket to play. Reckons it is very fun to play with Hales.
...Presentation time...
Brisbane Heat were beaten comprehensively. The difference between the two teams was the intent. It felt like there was fear while batting for the Heat. They were just not able to break the shackles. The knock from Xavier Bartlett did give them a breather but it always looked a below-par score. Harsh to blame the bowlers but to lose by 10 wickets is very disappointing.
As easy as you like! A walk in the park for the Thunder. It felt like they were batting on a completely different pitch. However, the win was set up by the bowlers. They were all class with the ball and didn't allow Brisbane Heat to run away with a big score. Around 120 looked decent but it was just too easy for Alex Hales and Matthew Gilkes who made batting look so easy. Both scored their respective fifty and help Sydney Thunder bounce out of the last spot in the table.
