Right. That ends the Sixers' league stage campaign. They would be keenly watching the Strikers-Hurricanes match and support Hobart. Wait, wait, wait! Where are you going? We are not done yet! Remember, this is a Saturday? So double header is the order of the day. The Stars-Heat match is up next at the MCG. Hop over to that game!
STEVEN SMITH HAS BEEN NAMED THE MAN OF THE MATCH. Smudge says that he is tired as there was a lot of running between the wickets but is happy to get his team over the line. Adds that he loves playing for the Sixers. Goes on to say that batting with Philippe is a pleasure as he has a great future. Details that he did not want to put any pressure on the 'kid'. But praises Philippe for making things easier for him in their partnership.
Earlier in the day, a masterclass from captain Aaron Finch saw the Renegades reach 175. He scored his second Big Bash century, thanks to three dropped catches but sadly for his side, it did not prove enough.
The Renegades were not quite at their best with the ball, with only Will Sutherland showing some resistance. He affected a terrific run out of Vince and got the dangerous Philippe as well but had no answer to the class of Smith. This win takes the Sixers to provisional second spot, but their net run rate is not that great. They have to hope that Adelaide lose on Sunday.
Jeez, that is as comprehensive a chase as one would ever see! The Sixers who struggle to chase down 130s, have aced down a chase of 176! All thanks to two people - Josh Philippe and the master, Steven Smith. The former laid the foundation of the chase while the latter, phew, just looked in imperious touch.

What a save! McSweeney, you beauty. That was surely going for a six. Certainly saved some runs for his side. Full delivery on middle, Smith lifts it towards long on. McSweeney comes across from long on, jumps and catches it with one hand. He then sees himself going over the ropes and throws the ball back without touching the ropes. Brilliant stuff. Only two taken.
