Right from the start of the chase, Melbourne Stars were under pressure. With such a big score, they had no other option than to go big and in the process kept on losing wickets. No one sort of played a big innings. There were a couple of cameos but not enough to win the game. The bowlers let them down though as they leaked far too many runs. Luke Wood took a five fer but he will be not that happy with his performance. However, Perth Scorchers will be happy as they were brilliant with the ball and exceptional with the bat.
Perth Scorchers are back to winning ways with a convincing win. It was a complete effort from them. With over 200 runs they had enough runs to defend and the bowlers were brilliant as they kept the run rate in check. It never felt like they were under pressure. Jhye Richardson removed both the openers. The spinners handled the middle phase really well. Every one ended with a wicket at least but it was Jason Behrendorff who ended with three wickets. A comfortable win in the end.
