That is it from this game. The action continues in the Hundred on 26th as August Welsh Fire face Northern Superchargers at 11.30 pm IST (6 pm GMT). But before that, the Women's team will be in action. So do join us at 8 pm IST (2.30 pm GMT) for all the action. You can join us early for the build up as well. Cheers!
James Vince, the skipper of Southern Brave says that the pitch was a bit difficult but it was a brilliant game of cricket. Adds about Alex Davies coming in and playing brilliant innings were the key moment and the guys played really well. Further says that it's good they have some experience in the end and they can play in tough conditions. Applauds Tim David and Ross Whiteley for their cameo.
Alex Davies is the Player of the Match for his match-winning fifty. He says that this will go down as one of the best innings. Says the guys played really well. Adds that it's nice to get a win after the women's have won it and the hallmark of the team is that they will fight till the end.
...Presentation coming up...
Earlier after opting to bowl first, the Brave did well to restrict the Rockets to an under par score. Malan scored a fifty but it was the spinners who handled the game mostly. In reply, against an in-form bowling department, the Brave put an absolute thrilling performance as they chased down the target in fine fashion.
It was a pitch that was tricky to bat on and the Brave were bogged down early by going two down. Quinton de Kock played a handy innings but it was all about the partnership between Alex Davies and Ross Whiteley. Alex Davies played to run-a-ball at one stage and it looked like the Brave were slipping away but they slowly build the stand and in the end Davies made it over the line along with Tim David's quick 19.
What a win this is for the Brave! it won't make a significant difference on the points table but the defending champions have played like a champion. Southern Brave have spoiled Trent Rockets party who miss the chance to get on top of the table. Alos, Southern Brave are mathematically still in the race for the qualification.
