LASITH MALINGA (MAN OF THE MATCH) reveals that he hasn't fully recovered from his injury. Admits that he is struggling a bit (when asked about limping towards the end). States that he wanted to play the game to help the youngsters of his team. Adds that he always tries his best with the ball and is happy with the success. Opines that the youngsters in the side have a bright future and need to be given time. Says that it is difficult to replace legends like Sangakkara and expressed hope in the young talents of his side.

AMJAD JAVED feels that the whole game was excellent for his side. Says they did well with the ball to restrict Sri Lanka to a low total. Adds that with the bat, despite a bad start, his side tried well to come back into the game. Opines that losing too many wickets early on cost his side eventually. Ends saying he doesn't feel that the loss will hamper his team morale and insists that UAE did put up a really good fight.

The lower order tried their best to get an inch closer but were always away from it. The new bowling unit with help from the likes of Malinga and Kulasekara made it a tough task for the chasing side. The contest got to the final over as the lower order did some late firing. As we said, they kept losing wickets and were running themselves out of the contest. Finally the winning streak gets over here for UAE and SL open their account in this Asia Cup. Good win but lots to learn from this game when they next meet the dark horse (Bangladesh).

Close shave for the Lankans! Chasing 130 seemed an easy task for the newly qualified UAE, but losing 4 wickets in the first 2 overs shut down the chase early. They never looked in the game as they kept losing wickets at regular intervals and were finding it difficult to score boundaries. The star-studded batting unit looked like rookies and played amateur strokes to get out.
