We have witnessed one of the best innings not only in the CPL, but in T20 cricket as a whole. What a knock, what a victory. Third fastest CPL hundred ever. Only Andre Russell has scored it in lesser balls. Take a bow, Nicholas Pooran. The Warriors have sounded a warning to other teams that they have the batting arsenal.
It all started on a similar note for Guyana, as has been throughout the season. 20/1, 24/2 and then 25/3. With 126 needed at around 9 an over, the writing was on the wall. And then, in walked Nicholas Pooran and Ross Taylor. But it was all about Pooran, really.
Nicholas Pooran took his time early on, biding his time, judging the wicket. And then came the Imran Khan over. It was the one immediatey after the DRINKS BREAK, the 11th. Pooran pounced onto him and carted him for 18 runs and the momentum shifted. After that, Nicholas went into overdrive, in a beastly unstoppable mode. Ross Taylor played it smartly, just rotating the strike here and there. In an unbeaten stand of 128 in 71 balls, Rosco made just 25! That is experience. It is very difficult to hold yourself back when your partner is going on so well at the other end but Taylor played his part to perfection. Pooran clobbered 10 sixes and 4 fours while smart Rosco hit just a solitary biggie.
Hard to understand the feelings of the Patriots. They might put it down to an amazing innings but they were on top at the halfway stage. However, their spinners did not get the wickets they wanted. Imran Khan began with a maiden but then Pooran carted him around and he disappeared. Jaggesar was okay while Sodhi was disappointing. Earlier, the Patriots recovered nicely through Joshua Da Silva and Denesh Ramdin, reaching 150, from 51/3. Please stay tuned for the presentation...
NICHOLAS POORAN HAS BEEN NAMED THE MAN OF THE MATCH. Thanks the almighty for giving him strength and courage. Thanks his parents and also his trainer, who has worked on his fitness in the last 5 months. Is happy with this success after a lot of hard work. Admits that it has been a tough tournament for every batsman in his team and hopes that this innings is a stepping stone for a turnaround. On his partnership with Ross Taylor, Pooran says that they were just looking to build a stand and things just flowed through. Credits Rosco for his experience. On his promotion to number 4, Nicholas says that it is something that he has wanted to do, bat up the order. On finishing off the game with three sixes and getting the century, Pooran says that the century was not actually in his mind, but when he hit the second six, he thought he can get the ton. However, he is looking at the bigger picture with the win. Wants to send a message to all the Guyana fans to stay positive.
St Kitts And Nevis Patriots skipper, Rayad Emrit, rates that his team's batting performance was one of its best. Feels great to see guys putting their hands up in times of trouble. Puts this loss down to a special innings of Nicholas Pooran, who made the pitch look like a batting paradise. Sees plenty of positives in this defeat, for example, getting to 150 from a weak position and the batting at the death which shows their potential to get big scores.
Victorious Guyana Amazon Warriors captain, Chris Green, feels that it is a big win. Lauds praises on Nicholas Pooran and Ross Taylor for playing the way they did but also admits that his bowlers probably gave 20 runs extra. On swapping Pooran and Taylor in the batting orders, Green feels that the plan was to have experience down the order and form higher and it worked. Praises the young Kevin Sinclair for showing the right attitude and is extremely excited for the kid, especially to get a win on debut. Laughs on being asked about the somersault celebration and says that he is extremely energetic while training and keeps jumping up and down. On finding the recipe for a win, Chris says that they have been talking about peaking and this is the right moment. Observes that they have a day's break and then have three successive games, so wants to seal their fate as soon as they can.
Sayonara, Port Of Spain! That ends the CPL action over there. We now move back to Tarouba for the final piece of action in this tournament. A bizarre Sunday, which first saw the lowest ever total in the CPL getting defended - 92 and then, that was followed by a blazing century in 45 balls - the third fastest in the history of the tournament. Guyana have hopped over to third place now, thanks to this big win, with 3 wins from 7 games. The Patriots are looking on their way out, with just 1 win from 7 matches.
Right. That ends the action from Sunday and we have a day's break. The action resumes from Tuesday, with Trinbago Knight Riders taking on Jamaica Tallawahs at 10 am local (1400 GMT), followed by the Barbados Tridents-Guyana Amazon Warriors clash at 5:30 pm. Join us on 1st September, 2020. ADIOS! TAKE CARE!

NOT OUT! Taylor is safe! On middle, Pooran flicks it through mid-wicket. The batsmen take a single and go for the second. The fielder throws it to the bowler's end where Sodhi takes the bails off. It is referred upstairs. Replays show that Ross Taylor is well inside the crease.
Run out appeal! Is Taylor in trouble? Referred upstairs. Nope. The old veteran is still quick between the wickets. Replays show that Rosco is home.
