The next match takes place at Johannesburg on 12th February, 2016, at 1330 local, 1130 GMT. It promises to be a thriller of an encounter. Do join us. Till then, take care and cheers!
QUINTON DE KOCK was awarded the MAN OF THE MATCH. When asked about the wicket, he said that it was good, they knew it was going to be a better wicket at night. Also said that they just had to beat the in field and that was the plan of action. Ended by saying that at Centurion it does get tough but at night with the dew it gets much better to bat.
South African skipper AB DE VILLIERS said that they needed that win, the boys played very well. Further went on to say that his team played better cricket and deserved the win. Also said that he has always asked for good attitude and they had that today, the boys were hungry to get a win. Credited his openers by saying that it was a fantastic knock by both Amla and de Kock. Ended by saying that his team slowly but surely is getting back in the series.
The skipper of England, EOIN MORGAN when asked about how difficult it was batting first replied by saying he thought it was tough. Added on by saying that this group (team England) has been very good in setting totals in the past, they always play with a positive attitude. Further said that Root was outstanding and Hales has been in great form. Also said that a bit of wear and tear was kicking in which was an encouragement for the spinners. Further described the wicket by saying that the ball did not do much so they went back to hitting the length but could not do it regularly. Ended by saying that South Africa have come back really strong, hopefully we can bounce back quickly.
So, as things stand right now, England now lead the series 2-1. With two more matches to go, and especially after today's performance, the Proteas will be high on confidence and will be up for the next challenge. If they manage to put up a similar performance in the next match, they have a very good chance of getting on level terms. England, despite this loss, still have plenty of positives to take with them and can build on it.
England had gotten off to a good start yet again. Root and Hales had done extremely well. Having made 125 runs between them, they had laid a solid foundation for their team. Ben Stokes came in the latter stage of the innings and scored a quickfire half century, helping England score a total of 300 plus. But their brilliant efforts were in vain as their bowling did not back them up.
Don't know if there's much to say about the English bowling tonight. They were smashed possibly in every part of the Centurion, never getting the chance to settle in and bowl their lines and lengths. Adil Rashid was the only mentionable name today who bowled with some control.
It seemed like a daunting task when they started this run chase and there might have been questions about whether or not they'll be able to do it. But boy, oh boy, they've answered those questions mighty well! By the time de Kock was dismissed, the game was more or less in the Proteas' favour. Despite a couple of quick wickets falling, Amla continued the charge. And with Faf du Plessis playing a nice little cameo towards the end, they saw this game through with ease.
From the get-go, they started scoring all around the park, not letting any of the English bowlers settle. Both went on to score huge tons. Putting up 239 runs between them, the highest ever South African opening stand against England, they played phenomenally well, taking the game away from the visitors. This was the highest run chase at this ground.
South Africa have done it! They needed a win to stay alive in this series and they have done just that. They've won this match emphatically and certainly fought back in style. It was the openers, Quinton de Kock and Hashim Amla, who should be getting all the credit today. They came out to bat with a positive mind-set and that reflected in their batting.

No ball! du Plessis lofts it over covers and Morgan puts down the catch in the deep. It does not matter as that was a no ball, Stokes had overstepped.

OUT! Amla has been dismissed! Short of a length ball outside off, Amla looks to cut off his back foot but only gets an edge. The ball goes behind for keeper to collect a comfortable catch. End of a magnificent inning by the opener. He has done the job for his team!
