So that is it from us! England lead the 5-match series 2-0. South Africa now need to win all of their next three games to win the series. The first of which will be played on 9th February at the Centurion at 1330 local, 1700 IST. Join us for the coverage. Until then, goodbye and have a great weekend. Cheers!
Man of the Match, ALEX HALES - (On the delivery he got out) He said it was a good delivery to be on 99 and was unfortunate to get out. Goes on to say the wicket played on today was different to the wickets played in the summer. Continues by saying they knew if they took it deep in the line-up they could do it. Added by saying Jos is in good nick. Concluded by saying that the Test series was difficult but he learned a lot from it and managed to take the experience into the ODI series.
EOIN MORGAN said he was most impressed with his team's performance. Also said his side did extremely well in different conditions. Further continues that his team is adapting well even as the wicket was changing. Continues by saying you never know what a good score is until you bat on it. Adds saying he thought 260 was below par score and knew they could chase down the target set in front of them. Further said he bowled spinners because he wanted to get AB out and that was a big wicket. (On his batting line-up) He said he was most impressed with batting power, especially on different surfaces. Ended by saying the partnerships were key as there were few of them that got going and then praised Buttler for the way he finished it off.
AB DE VILLIERS started by saying they were 20 runs short and that the pitch was a little slow. Adds that they lost early wickets which was the reason for their downfall. He continues by saying 290 was a good score and would have been ideal to reach somewhere around that total. (On Duminy's wicket) He said JP was unlucky to get out the way he did, added it's part of the game and it happens. Goes on to say his side fought well to get to that total. Credits the opposition, saying that they outdid them in almost every department. Went on to say Buttler took the game away in the dying stages. Further says he hoped that the pitch would get slower and there are no excuses to be given. Ends by saying they will take one game at a time as they have to do plenty of work now to bounce back.
The South African bowlers bowled well at the start and kept things tight throughout the match. Abbott and Morkel were the wicket takers, they took 5 wickets between them. Imran Tahir went wicketless and was smashed to all parts of the ground by Buttler. South Africa's main problem lies in the fifth bowler. Duminy and Behardien bowled 10 overs between them and went wicketless. They were also taken for runs. Going into the third match, they really need to fix that problem.
However, South Africa got their noses in front by taking the wicket of Stokes. Hales departed soon after and that was when England were in a spot of bother. Buttler and Ali took it upon themselves to end the match in style. Some superb shots under pressure changed things in a matter of minutes. Probably that over of Tahir at the end turned everything on its heels. England chased the target down with just about 4 overs to spare.
England started the run chase on the back foot when Roy departed for just 14. However, Root and Hales steadied things up and got their team back on track with a 97-run partnership. The former departed and in came the skipper. He too struck a good chord with Hales but after putting up 52 runs together, a rash shot and good ball led to his dismissal. At that stage, things were pretty even.
That is it then! The final flurry did the trick for England. It was Jos Buttler who came in at a time when England needed someone to step up. His three sixes off three balls made the difference at a time when things were hanging on the balance. Take nothing away from South Africa though, they really gave their opposition a tough fight. However, Hales' 99 and Buttler's heroics at the end ensured England did not let it slip away.
