Right, then! That's it from us for this game. New Zealand win and take a 1-0 lead with it. Next game will be crucial for the Windies if they want to stay alive in the 3-match series. Should be a good one given there's a lot at stake. It will take place in Christchurch on the 23rd of December at 1100 local (2200 GMT the previous day). Tune in for that. Till then, cheers!
Kane Williamson says it was a pretty good all-round performance which he's quite happy about. Opines despite there being a below par target to chase, the wicket was a bit tricky so is pleased that his team got over the line. Goes on to state that Doug Bracewell has impressed after coming back from injury and so have George Worker and Todd Astle. When asked about the next game in Christchurch, mentions it's a slightly different surface which has some pace and bounce, so have to adapt to the conditions there. On his break, says he's looking forward to it as he wants to relax.
Jason Holder says it was a tough start and they didn't get enough runs on the board. Adds they lost wickets at crucial stages which never gave them any momentum. States he wants his side to do better in the middle overs and finish well from there. Ends by saying they'll look to do better in the next game in Christchurch.
Doug Bracewell is the Man of the Match. He says it was a good start with the ball and he is delighted to get Gayle. Feels better to get the win. About his knee injury, he says it has been tough but the hard work has paid off. Adds that there is still some niggle but he needs to manage it well.
West Indies didn't have a good enough total on the board to begin with, but some toothless and inconsistent bowling coupled with some defensive captaincy didn't do them much good. Wickets were what they needed but they never did enough to get that. Earlier in the day, a good holding knock from Lewis followed by a brisk one from Powell saw the Windies get close to 250, but that didn't prove to be enough. Stay tuned as the presentation is about to come up...
A rather comfortable win in the end for the Kiwis. They had to chase down a below par total which was made easier by their openers Munro and Worker. Their brisk 108-run stand for the opening wicket pretty much set it all up. But the experienced heads of Williamson and Taylor added a 50-partnership for good measure to ensure their side virtually won the game. The latter stayed till the end and ensured New Zealand got over the finish line.

Rovman Powell To Ross Taylor
Wide! Oh, dear... No fifty for Ross Taylor, because Rovman Powell, either cynically, or unintentionally, has bowled it down the leg side. So the umpire signals wide. Even though Taylor misses out on his fifty, he and everyone else will take joy in the fact that NEW ZEALAND WIN BY 5 WICKETS!

Jason Holder To Todd Astle
Astle makes room for himself so Holder follows him. Bangs it in short and angles it down, the batsman somehow ducks and evades.

FOUR! Not going to get an easier delivery to put away. Low full toss on the pads, Astle flicks it through backward square leg. Fine leg was in position but he couldn't get to it in time.

Jason Holder To Henry Nicholls OUT!
OUT! Holder gets his second of the game! From around the wicket, Holder lands it on a length outside off. It angles into Nicholls even as he looks to cut. It is too close to play that shot and also there is extra bounce on this one. He ends up nicking it behind to Shai Hope who takes a regulation catch.
