Right! That's all from this game. The Kiwis have pocketed the series with one game still left. The third and final ODI between the two sides will be played on Friday, 26th March 2021. The action will begin at 1400 local (0100 GMT). We will look forward to your company once again. For now, it is goodbye from our side. Take care and cheers!
Tom Latham, the New Zealand skipper is back for the chat again. He tells that Bangladesh had wickets in hand but New Zealand controlled things nicely with the ball. Praises Santner for his bowling. Thinks they didn't get the best of the start but as the chase went on, they kept getting better. Says that it was a bit tricky surface and is pleased to cross the line. Talks highly of Conway and says that he has done superbly in domestic cricket and has got his best form in the international arena. Ends by saying that they want to improve more as a side.
Tamim Iqbal, the Bangladesh skipper, says that he felt that they could've won the game. Feels that their bowlers did really well to create chances but the fielders failed to support them. Adds that he is really disappointed with the result. Praises Rahim and Mithun for their batting. Adds that it was an improved performance from them but tells they are here to win the game as well. Reckons there will be dropped chances in the game of cricket but it hurts them. Says that people do not drop the catches willingly but they need to grab chances like these. Wants to be positive in the final ODI.
Tom Latham, the Kiwi skipper, is named Player of the Match for his superb knock. Starts by saying that it is really nice to have a match-winning contribution. Tells that it was all about partnerships during the chase. On facing the spinners, Latham says that the ball was turning a bit but the dew did make it a bit tough for them. Tells that they had their targets as a batting side and worked out their plans nicely.
Stay tuned for the presentation!
Earlier in the game, Latham won the toss and asked Bangladesh to bat first. On the back of a superb unbeaten 73 from Mithun and contributions from Tamim, Sarkar and Rahim, Bangladesh posted a fine total on the board. The Kiwis bowled tightly but failed to take wickets at regular intervals and that meant they gave away a few runs too many during the death overs. Santner was the pick of the bowlers with twin wickets. However, the likes of Boult, Henry and Jamieson too bowled tightly and got one wicket each to their name. Neesham had a poor game as he gave away 73 in his 9 overs. However, their good work in the first half with the ball meant that the Kiwis, led by their skipper's superb knock sealed the deal.
Chasing the total, the Kiwis didn't start well as Nicholls fell early and Guptill too didn't get going. Young departed in the 11th over of the game with the score reading just 53 for 3. However, after that, Conway along with skipper Latham added 100-plus to keep the Kiwis in the chase. Conway raked up his maiden ODI half ton before getting run out while trying to steal a single. Latham, however, continued and kept going. Bangladesh were really poor in the field as they put down a few chances. Latham and Neesham used the chances given and took the team close with their 76-run stand. Neesham holed out in search of quick runs but Latham continued and converted the half ton into a scintillating century to take the team home. Mitchell played his part by scoring 12 off 6.
Excellent run chase from the Kiwis and they have sealed the 3-match ODI series with a game to go. Just terrific from New Zealand and the skipper leading from the front, in front of his home crowd is extra special. Bangladesh had their chances with the ball but they just didn't pick it up. A number of dropped chances and sloppy fielding didn't help their cause one bit and they have been hammered again!

FOUR! There it is, there are the winning runs! A low full toss on the pads, Latham, the star for New Zealand, works it through square leg and it races away. NEW ZEALAND WIN BY 5 WICKETS!

Confusion, a slip but all safe in the end!  On the pads, Latham looks to flick but misses. It hits the pad and rolls on the off side. Mitchell wants a run and sets off. Latham is not interested. Mitchell slips as he looks to turn back to get in. The fielder though misses his shy at the bowler's end.

What happened there? Mustafizur is hobbling off the ground. Seems to have done something to his leg. Soumya Sarkar will finish off his over.

Does not carry! Once again luck favoring Latham! Shorter, Latham comes down the track and looks to pull but it takes the inside edge, then hits Latham's body and then lands short of the keeper who dives forward. 13 needed in 18.

FOUR! 100 for Latham! Take a bow the Kiwi skipper! What a knock. Walked out when New Zealand were in big, big trouble and now has taken his side right on top. What a shot to get to the ton. A short one on middle, Latham rolls his wrists over the ball, keeps it down and pulls it behind square on the leg side for a boundary. The helmet is off and the crowd is on its feet acknowledging the applause.
Taskin Ahmad to bowl out now. He has bowled really well but the luck hasn't been on his side.

Mustafizur Rahman To James Neesham OUT!
OUT! NEESHAM HOLES OUT! Bangladesh in it by just! Still 30 needed in 28. Rahman goes full this time and it works. It is a slower one. Neesham is early into the stroke and only manages to hit it high up in the air towards long on. The fielder, Sarkar, takes it comfortably.

FOUR! Crucial boundary! A short one, Neesham stands tall and pulls it from outside off. It is in the gap in the mid-wicket region. The fielder in the deep runs to his right and dives but fails to stop it.
