AB de Villiers, for his majestic 71 has been adjudged the Man of the Match. That's all from this game. Brisbane Heat are still in with a chance to qualify for the Playoffs while the Stars have begun to crumble in the latter stages of the BBL. On 26th January, We have another double header coming up. Join us for the first one where Sydney Thunder take on Perth Scorchers at 1445 pm Local (0345 GMT). The second one is between Adelaide Strikers and Hobart Hurricanes. That match will take place at 1840 Local (0810 GMT). Until then, cheers.
Earlier, the hosts had no answer to the assault by AB de Villiers as he helped the Heat reach a score which was a very good one at this ground. De Villiers was well supported by Marnus Labuschagne. For the Stars, only Adam Zampa bowled well while the others got a bit of stick from Mr. 360. The Debutant, Dilbar Hussain did not have a great start to his BBL career as he went for 56 in his four overs. All in all, it was a terrific performance from the Heat.
Melbourne Stars were poor with the bat. None of their batters got going and they kept losing wickets in a heap. Once they lost their man in form, Marcus Stoinis, it was always going to be difficult for them. They needed the Big Show to fire tonight but he failed too. Nick Larkin and Peter Handscomb tried to resurrect the innings with a steady partnership but it was not enough. In then end, they crumbled for their lowest score in BBL history.
What a victory for the Brisbane Heat! They were brilliant, first with the bat and then with the ball. Everything worked for them and they keep their playoff chances alive. They started well with the ball, picking up wickets at regular intervals. Mitchell Swepson was the pick of the bowlers as he picked up three wickets while Mujeeb Ur Rahman and James Pattinson were economical bagging two wickets as well.

Excellent save from Labuschagne! Pure commitment from him. A short ball outside off from Prestwidge. Hinchcliffe backs away and slams it through point. It looks like the ball will race away to the fence but Labuschagne chases it from deep cover and makes a diving save.
