Inn Break
AB de Villiers, for his majestic 71 has been adjudged the Man of the Match. That's all from this game. Brisbane Heat are still in with a chance to qualify for the Playoffs while the Stars have begun to crumble in the latter stages of the BBL. On 26th January, We have another double header coming up. Join us for the first one where Sydney Thunder take on Perth Scorchers at 1445 pm Local (0345 GMT). The second one is between Adelaide Strikers and Hobart Hurricanes. That match will take place at 1840 Local (0810 GMT). Until then, cheers.
Earlier, the hosts had no answer to the assault by AB de Villiers as he helped the Heat reach a score which was a very good one at this ground. De Villiers was well supported by Marnus Labuschagne. For the Stars, only Adam Zampa bowled well while the others got a bit of stick from Mr. 360. The Debutant, Dilbar Hussain did not have a great start to his BBL career as he went for 56 in his four overs. All in all, it was a terrific performance from the Heat.
Melbourne Stars were poor with the bat. None of their batters got going and they kept losing wickets in a heap. Once they lost their man in form, Marcus Stoinis, it was always going to be difficult for them. They needed the Big Show to fire tonight but he failed too. Nick Larkin and Peter Handscomb tried to resurrect the innings with a steady partnership but it was not enough. In then end, they crumbled for their lowest score in BBL history.
What a victory for the Brisbane Heat! They were brilliant, first with the bat and then with the ball. Everything worked for them and they keep their playoff chances alive. They started well with the ball, picking up wickets at regular intervals. Mitchell Swepson was the pick of the bowlers as he picked up three wickets while Mujeeb Ur Rahman and James Pattinson were economical bagging two wickets as well.

Mujeeb Ur Rahman To Adam Zampa OUT!
OUT! STUMPED! De Villiers manages to stump the batter out after failing to collect in the first attempt. Floated ball outside off, Zampa dances down the track and then looks to heave it away. He misses. De Villiers fails to collect it cleanly in the first attempt and then picks it up and whips the bails off. The third umpire is called. The replays roll in and it shows that de Villiers had whipped the bails off before Zampa had made his way back inside the crease. The Heat are just two wickets away from a well-deserved victory.

NOT OUT! Coulter-Nile is really lucky to be still out there! Poor decision as this looked like his bat was in the air. Flatter delivery outside off, Larkin punches it to point. Coulter-Nile wants the single but is sent back. The fielder throws it to Mujeeb and he whips the bails off. Coulter-Nile dives but has that helped him make it into the crease? The third umpire is called. From the replays it looks like Coulter-Nile's bat is in the air. The third umpire thinks otherwise as he feels that the bat was grounded. Not Out is the signal. Bizarre decision. Even the on-air commentators are surprised by that decision.
Run Out appeal has been taken upstairs. Looks really close. The bat looks in the air. Shane Warne on air reckons that's out. So does Vaughn. But not the third umpire.
Mujeeb Ur Rahman is back on. 2-0-7-0 from him so far.
