Thisara Perera wins the Man of the Match award for his gun blazing effort with the bat. He is also the victorious skipper, he says, as a batting unit they put up a good score and the bowlers did really well to keep the opposition control. He mentions, he doesn't put much pressure on the bowlers when they are on song.
Dhananjaya De Silva, the Colombo Stars skipper, says that defeat has hurt them and their plan didn't work at all. He adds that because of these conditions they batted first and they have to relook at their strategies now going ahead.

A mighty display by Jaffna Kings, by both their batters and bowlers, and this victory has been very well deserved. Their batters set up this win for them with a commanding batting display, as they registered a total of 207. In response, their bowlers were on fire in the first 5 overs, as they removed 5 batters in no time and set the ball rolling. They struggled a bit to break the stand between Dinesh Chandimal and Ashan Priyanjan, but once they breached the same, they ran away with the game and ended with a win. Maheesh Theekshana was the star as he took 4 wickets and Wahab Riaz too ended with 4 to his name. Wanindu Hasaranga rounded things off with his 2 wickets. Overall, a top display from the Kings.

OUT! CAUGHT BEHIND! Wahab Riaz gets his fourth wicket and Colombo Stars have been bundled out for 114 here! A full ball, around off. Dushmantha Chameera backs away and looks to hit it away towards the off side but gets a faint outside edge back to the keeper. Rahmanullah Gurbaz makes no mistake and takes an easy catch. They appeal but much to their surprise the umpire is unmoved. Jaffna Kings decide to take a review and the replays show that there is a big spike  off his blade on the UltraEdge. So Dushmantha Chameera departs and  Jaffna Kings win by 93 runs!
An easy win for the Jaffna Kings as they have beaten Colombo Stars by 93 runs! They have deserved to win this game. Right from ball one, they have dominated and have ended this game on the correct side of the result. Chasing a total of 207 was never going to be an easy task and it felt like the Stars did not have it in them to chase this down right from the first ball of the second innings. By the time the Powerplay ended, Colombo Stars were already 5 down and were struggling to keep their innings afloat. A 64-run stand between Dinesh Chandimal and Ashan Priyanjan kept the game alive slightly as they were looking to attack and keep the scoreboard moving, but they failed to keep going and once this stand was broken, the rest of the batters just followed suit.
