That is it from this game then! Karachi now have no chance to qualify whereas, Islamabad have strengthened their chance. PSL action continues on Tuesday as Peshawar Zalmi take on Quetta Gladiators. That game begins at 2000 IST (1430 GMT). Till then, take care and goodbye!
Asif Ali is the PLAYER OF THE MATCH. He says he played to his strength, he did not perform well in the last few games but he is happy he scored runs today. Adds he had responsibility with the ball too and his team had no option other than him. Mentions Maqsood has played a lot of cricket with him and he knew he could defend this and he did. Ends by saying this win is credited to Shadab Khan who is a fighter.
Babar Azam, the skipper of Karachi Kings, says the way the team fought was really good and the effort put in by the team was impressive. States they always play a game with a positive mind-set but they need to play according to the situation, they played well in the first 10 with the ball but they did not bowl to their plans in the second half. Credits the way Imad and Akram played and says it is because of them they got back into the game.
Stay tuned for the presentation...
Waqas Mahmood is down for a chat.  He says that whatever the runs he needed to defend he was ready to defend it. He adds that he got the confidence from the first dot ball and despite the boundary off the second ball he was confident of pulling it off. He mentions that Shadab Khan has given him a lot of confidence. He credits Asif Ali for bowling well with injuries to their premier bowlers.
Have to credit Islamabad United for the way they fought. Let me remind you, two of their bowlers went back injured. Zeeshan Zameer and Shadab Khan, both bowled only 9 balls out of the 48 they could. The rest stood up. The likes of Waqas Maqsood, Faheem Ashraf, Liam Dawson and Asif Ali to everyone's surprise. He actually was the pick with two big wickets. A lot was dependent on how he bowls as he had to fill the big boots of Shadab and he did it brilliantly. This win will give Islamabad United a lot of confidence, they have been failing to defend big totals and it seemed ike that would be the case yet again but they have managed to do so.
Islamabad United though dominated most of the second half! We do say it was them who managed to steal the win but they were the one who dominated the game. They got two in the Powerplay. Then there was a partnership between Sharjeel and Farhan but once again United managed to get two quickly. However, then came the fightback from Karachi then came the brilliant stand between Imad Wasim and Qasim Akram, the youngster. The two added 100 in no time, yes they did have luck on their side as Qasim Akram was dropped at least twice but take nothing away from the way they played. They got it down to touching distance. Karachi needed 8 in the last over, it came down to 4 of 4 and that is when this stand was broken. Thompson was then dismissed of the very first ball, seeing his side need two in one and Maqsood showed great alertness to get Jordan run out on the very last ball.
What a game! What a game of cricket that was! Have to say, Karachi not winning this just sums up their season. It is now 7 losses in a row for them which means they are more or less out of this tournament. Also, credit to Waqas Maqsood, he was left out for the last couple of games, he comes back in the team and defends 7 in the last over. Absolutely stunning. Have to say, in the end, it is Islamabad who have pulled a rabbit out of the hat.

Waqas Maqsood To Chris Jordan OUT!
OUT! RUN OUT! Chris Jordan is short of his crease here and Islamabad United have won this game by the barest of margin! You can't ask for a better game of cricket, a nail-bitting thriller this! A slower length ball, on middle. Chris Jordan plays it early and ends up hitting it in the air towards Waqas Maqsood. He puts his left hand up to catch this one but fails. The ball falls on the turf and the batters try to steal  a single. However, Waqas Maqsood is quick to collect the ball and fires in a direct underarm throw at the bowler's end. The umpire goes upstairs to check the run-out and the replays show that Chris Jordan is short of his crease. Islamabad United players rejoice and Karachi Kings dug out is gutted. So Islamabad United win by 1 run.
Is that a run out? Is Jordan short? Has Islambad won the game? Yes, they have. Chris Jordan is short.
Jordan walks out to bat! Are we in for a superb over? 2 needed, can Jordan steal a two from somehwere? Can Maqsood get a dot? We will find out.

Waqas Maqsood To Jordan Thompson OUT!
OUT! KNOCKED HIM OVER! Oh... Jordan Thompson perishes off the first ball and who is writing the script of this cracker of a game! A length delivery on off. Slower in pace. Jordan Thompson looks to heave it across the line but misses. The ball shatters the off pole and the twists and turns are just not going away. It all comes down to the last ball of the game! Two needed now from the final delivery!

Waqas Maqsood To Imad Wasim OUT!
OUT! CAUGHT! Ohh...another twist in the tale! What a game this has been. A shorter length delivery on off. Wasim charges down the track and looks to slap it down the ground. However, he gets the bottom of his blade and the ball goes towards mid off. Hales there takes an easy catch and we are in for some nervy last moments in this game. Jordan Thompson is the next man in.

FOUR! Surely this should seal the first win of the season for Karachi Kings! A length delivery on middle and leg. A poor delivery this with fine leg inside the circle. Wasim whips this off his legs past short fine leg for a boundary. Just 4 needed now from 4 balls.

This is fuller and on middle, it is heaved towrads deep square leg. The fielder runs in and dives forward. It lands short of him, he fails to stop it and it goes to the fence behind.

Imad Wasim has hurt himself here as he dives to complete that run. He looks fine now and we are ready to resume.
