Inn Break
That is it from this game then! Karachi now have no chance to qualify whereas, Islamabad have strengthened their chance. PSL action continues on Tuesday as Peshawar Zalmi take on Quetta Gladiators. That game begins at 2000 IST (1430 GMT). Till then, take care and goodbye!
Asif Ali is the PLAYER OF THE MATCH. He says he played to his strength, he did not perform well in the last few games but he is happy he scored runs today. Adds he had responsibility with the ball too and his team had no option other than him. Mentions Maqsood has played a lot of cricket with him and he knew he could defend this and he did. Ends by saying this win is credited to Shadab Khan who is a fighter.
Babar Azam, the skipper of Karachi Kings, says the way the team fought was really good and the effort put in by the team was impressive. States they always play a game with a positive mind-set but they need to play according to the situation, they played well in the first 10 with the ball but they did not bowl to their plans in the second half. Credits the way Imad and Akram played and says it is because of them they got back into the game.
Stay tuned for the presentation...
Waqas Mahmood is down for a chat. He says that whatever the runs he needed to defend he was ready to defend it. He adds that he got the confidence from the first dot ball and despite the boundary off the second ball he was confident of pulling it off. He mentions that Shadab Khan has given him a lot of confidence. He credits Asif Ali for bowling well with injuries to their premier bowlers.
Have to credit Islamabad United for the way they fought. Let me remind you, two of their bowlers went back injured. Zeeshan Zameer and Shadab Khan, both bowled only 9 balls out of the 48 they could. The rest stood up. The likes of Waqas Maqsood, Faheem Ashraf, Liam Dawson and Asif Ali to everyone's surprise. He actually was the pick with two big wickets. A lot was dependent on how he bowls as he had to fill the big boots of Shadab and he did it brilliantly. This win will give Islamabad United a lot of confidence, they have been failing to defend big totals and it seemed ike that would be the case yet again but they have managed to do so.
Islamabad United though dominated most of the second half! We do say it was them who managed to steal the win but they were the one who dominated the game. They got two in the Powerplay. Then there was a partnership between Sharjeel and Farhan but once again United managed to get two quickly. However, then came the fightback from Karachi then came the brilliant stand between Imad Wasim and Qasim Akram, the youngster. The two added 100 in no time, yes they did have luck on their side as Qasim Akram was dropped at least twice but take nothing away from the way they played. They got it down to touching distance. Karachi needed 8 in the last over, it came down to 4 of 4 and that is when this stand was broken. Thompson was then dismissed of the very first ball, seeing his side need two in one and Maqsood showed great alertness to get Jordan run out on the very last ball.
What a game! What a game of cricket that was! Have to say, Karachi not winning this just sums up their season. It is now 7 losses in a row for them which means they are more or less out of this tournament. Also, credit to Waqas Maqsood, he was left out for the last couple of games, he comes back in the team and defends 7 in the last over. Absolutely stunning. Have to say, in the end, it is Islamabad who have pulled a rabbit out of the hat.

Waqas Maqsood To Chris Jordan OUT!
OUT! RUN OUT! Chris Jordan is short of his crease here and Islamabad United have won this game by the barest of margin! You can't ask for a better game of cricket, a nail-bitting thriller this! A slower length ball, on middle. Chris Jordan plays it early and ends up hitting it in the air towards Waqas Maqsood. He puts his left hand up to catch this one but fails. The ball falls on the turf and the batters try to steal a single. However, Waqas Maqsood is quick to collect the ball and fires in a direct underarm throw at the bowler's end. The umpire goes upstairs to check the run-out and the replays show that Chris Jordan is short of his crease. Islamabad United players rejoice and Karachi Kings dug out is gutted. So Islamabad United win by 1 run.
Is that a run out? Is Jordan short? Has Islambad won the game? Yes, they have. Chris Jordan is short.
Jordan walks out to bat! Are we in for a superb over? 2 needed, can Jordan steal a two from somehwere? Can Maqsood get a dot? We will find out.

OUT! KNOCKED HIM OVER! Oh... Jordan Thompson perishes off the first ball and who is writing the script of this cracker of a game! A length delivery on off. Slower in pace. Two needed now from the final delivery!

OUT! CAUGHT! Ohh...another twist in the tale! What a game this has been. A shorter length delivery on off. Wasim charges down the track and looks to slap it down the ground. However, he gets the bottom of his blade and the ball goes towards mid off. Hales there takes an easy catch and we are in for some nervy last moments in this game. Jordan Thompson is the next man in.

NOT OUT! The impact is umpire's call! It was a review in hope but not a bad one. They do not lose it. More importantly, it goes for two which means 41 needed in the last 3. This is fired around off. Akram shuffles across and looks to play the sweep. He misses and gets hit on the pads. An appeal as the ball goes down to fine leg for two leg byes. Islamabad United review but replays show that the impact is outside off.
Review! Islamabad United have taken a review for LBW against Qasim Akram. The replays roll in and the UltraEdge shows no bat involved. The Ball tracker rolls and it shows umpire's call on wickets hitting. So the original decision stays.

Asif Ali To Sharjeel Khan OUT!
OUT! This is a big blow for Karachi Kings right after the break. They were banking on Sharjeel Khan to get them through but he departs now and Kings are in big trouble again in a run-chase. A shorter length delivery on off. Khan pulls this was there to be hit, no doubt about it. However, Khan fails to get the elevation and hits this straight to Mubashir Khan, the substitue fielder and Asif Ali strikes in his first ball.
Strategic Time-Out! Just when the partnership was building up, Waqas Maqsood gets the breakthrough. Islamabad United have been hampered by twin injuries here but are still fighting it out in this game and are ahead at the moment. Sharjeel Khan is key here for Karachi Kings and it will all depend on how he goes about his business in the second-half of this innings. Qasim Akram is the next man in and Asif Ali is into the attack now.

Faheem does well! Saves five runs for his side! Farhan will be frustrated here, he might have thought he had got a biggie there but that is not the case. This is fuller and on middle, he heaves it towards long on. Does not get the height he desired. It goes towards Faheem there. He takes it but then realises the momentum is taking him towards the ropes, throws it back in, steps over the ropes, trips as he tries to come back and hence, can't catch the ball back again. It remains 49 for 2! A full on the pads, Sharjeel looks to flick but misses to get hit on the pads. 143 needed in 84. Just above 10 per over. Also, Islamabad United at the moment were 47 for 2. So neck and neck at the moment the two teams.

Some good news for Islamabad United, Shadab Khan is back! However, he is not moving that well and it looks more like he wants to stay there in the middle as a leader.

Liam Dawson To Joe Clarke OUT!
OUT! LBW! What a masterstroke! Liam Dawson comes on to bowl for injured Zeeshan Zameer and takes the wicket off his first ball! An arm ball this on middle and leg. Quicker and Clarke goes back to work it away. He misses the ball hits his pads and there is a huge appeal. The umpire raises his finger as it looks dead straight and Clarke goes without troubling the scorers.
Zeeshan Zameer is also going off now! He was in a lot of pain after bowling that delivery. This is not good, Islamabad United could well be two bowlers down now. Liam Dawson is going to finish the over.

Zeeshan Zameer To Joe Clarke
Back of a length, on off over 140 clicks. Clarke punches it to covers. Zeeshan Zameer however, looks in pain after bowling that ball.
Joe Clarke is the new batsman. Seems like another problem for Islamabad United as Zeeshan Zameer is now struggling. The physio has probably done his job and Zeesham seems to be going back to his mark to give it another go.

Zeeshan Zameer To Babar Azam OUT!
OUT! CAUGHT! Gone this time and it is the big fish, Babar Azam! What a delivery by Zeeshan Zameer. He pitches this on a good-length around off. Babar Azam looks to defend it but the ball nips away a little and with some extra bounce. It is the bounce that takes Azam by suprise and the ball catches the outside edge of his blade. The ball goes to the keeper and Azam Khan takes an easy catch. A big, big wicket this and Babar Azam has to walk back.

The ball goes high in the air towards the fine leg region and Waqas Maqsood running behind from short fine leg fails to pouch it. A single taken.

FOUR! What a shot! Babar Azam is looking in great touch! A length delivery on off. Azam drives it crisply past mid on for a boundary.
All of a sudden, Shadab is down in pain, holding his left thigh. He looks worried, the physio is out on the field and Shadab is back on his feet. He is walking back towards the dug out but is not looking comfortable while walking off. This is not good for Islamabad United, he has been their best bowler.
