That is all from this game! Now all our attentions will be turned, if it was not already, towards the big, no wait, the HUGE game. India against Pakistan, the match which will decide who finishes Group A on top. The match starts at 1530 Local (1130 GMT). Till then, take care and goodbye.
Man of the Match, Shikhar Dhawan, says that he was doing his process and believed in himself. Mentions that he was not taking extra risks and was playing on the merit of the ball. Credits one of the Hong Kong bowlers for bowling in the right areas on a slow pitch.
India skipper, Rohit Sharma, says that there were a lot of things that didn't go to plan but winning the game was the most important thing. Mentions that they made a lot of mistakes and there are no excuses for that. States that his boys have done the job earlier and he backs them. Adds that a couple of players showed a lot of character when it was needed. Opines that it was a great learning curve for them. Stresses the fact that they will be put under pressure but how they respond to it is what matters. Praises Dhawan for coming back strongly after a tough tour for England and also admires the way Rayudu played in his comeback game. Is all praises for the debutant, Khaleel Ahmed. Adds that he didn't start of well but did extremely well to fight back. Ends by saying that hopefully his boys will be fresh for the big game tomorrow.
Hong Kong skipper, Anshuman Rath, says that they are proud of the way they played but it is a bittersweet feeling. Adds that they were in a position to win this game and are disappointed with the final result. Mentions that they lost their way in the middle overs and that cost them. States that they wanted to play freely in this tournament and he is proud that his boys have done so. Adds that it would have been great if they had rolled the best team in the world over. Praises Nizakat Khan for his brilliant knock upfront and also Kinchit Shah for his terrific display with both ball and bat. Gives the credit to Shikhar Dhawan for playing a superb knock. Ends by saying that with Rayudu also batting well, 350 was on the cards for India but is happy this his bowlers were on the money at the fag end to restrict them to much less.
Earlier in the day, India, after being inserted, were going great guns, courtesy a 116-run stand between Rayudu and Dhawan. The latter got to a brilliant ton and when he was out there, India looked like crossing 300. However, a good fight back towards the fag end by the Hong Kong bowlers, especially, Kinchit Shah managed to keep the Men in Blue below 300 but that too proved to be enough.
However, today was a prime example of how important fitness is in modern day cricket. As the overs went on, Nizakat Khan started to tire out. He found it difficult to score and that built pressure. The run rate kept on building and a wicket was around the corner and that is exactly what happened. Kuldeep got the first and that opened the floodgates. It was all India after that as Khaleel the debutant then showed what he is capable of. He got rid of Nizakat who missed out on a well-deserved ton. He finished with a three-fer along with Chahal who ran through the middle order. He too ended with three wickets to his name. Thakur had a day to forget as he was taken for a plenty. However, Kedar Jadhav made up for him with a very economical spell. Kumar too did not have a great day at the office.
Chasing an above par total of 286, the Hong Kong openers came out all guns blazing. They took the attack to the Indian pacers and scored freely against them. They also tackled the spin twins really well. Yes, they did not score at the same rate against them as they did against the pacers but they were surely keeping the scoreboard moving. Nizakat Khan mainly, he was the aggressor as he got to his half ton in quick time. The skipper played the perfect foil to him as he also got to his half ton. The two added Hong Kong's highest partnership in ODI cricket and at that time they were well in the game.
So, it all ends how everyone thought it would with India winning their first game and knocking Hong Kong out of the 2018 Asia Cup. However, credit has to be given to them for the fight they have shown in this game. Especially after their outing against Pakistan, I do not think a lot people would have thought they would have fought this hard, against a team which probably a lot people felt was a tougher test.

Khaleel Ahmed To Ehsan Khan OUT!
OUT! In the air... taken by the bowler himself! What a debut for this lad. A well-disguised slower ball. Khan is completely foxed as he is way too early into the shot. He only manages to lob it up in the air towards the right of the pitch. Khaleel runs towards it and takes it. His third so far. Ehsan Nawaz is the next man in.

Kuldeep Yadav To Scott McKechnie OUT!
OUT! STUMPED! 50th ODI wicket for Kuldeep Yadav! He becomes the second fastest spinner to get to that milestone. Just behind Ajantha Mendis of Sri Lanka. McKechnie had no other option but to go for it and perishes in an attempt to do so. He steps out and swings wildly. Does not pick the googly and the ball beats the bat by a month. Dhoni behind, collects it and whips the bails off.

OUT! Chahal gets a 3-fer! India have almost shut the doors on their opposition now. Chahal slips in the googly around off. Aizaz Khan comes forward to defend it but perhaps doesn't pick the wrong one. Ends up missing it and is hit flush in front of the wickets. OUT! No inside edge and Nizakat has to take the long walk back. First ODI wicket for Khaleel and now both the set batsmen are back in the hut. Exactly what India needed, two wickets in quick succession. Khaleel angles this one in from outside off. Nizakat walks across and tries to flick but misses to get hit around the knee roll. The bowler appeals, he falls over while appealing but stands up to see the umpire give it out. Khan reviews it. Time for the replays and they show it is plumb. He walks back by getting dismissed in the nervous 90s, for the third time in his career and probably you can now say the match is slipping away from Hong Kong.
Nizakat Khan is a goner! He has been given out LBW, he has reviewed it but it looks plumb. Only an inside edge can save him.

Kuldeep Yadav To Anshy Rath OUT!
OUT! The change of bowling has done the trick. India have finally broken through. Exactly what India needed, exactly what Rohit Sharma needed. Kuldeep is the man. He has broken the 174-run stand. He tosses this up on off, Anshuman plays the cover drive but fails to keep it down. It goes into the hands of the skipper, Rohit Sharma who takes it. Rath punches his bat in disgust as he now knows this could probably open the floodgates. 112 more needed.
Kuldeep Yadav to bowl his 7th over.

FOUR! SLAPPED! Highest partnership for Hong Kong and Nizakat is into the 90s with that boundary. Width on offer outside off, Khan slashes at it. It flies over point and into the fence.

Attacks the stumps straightaway. Rath works it around the corner on the leg side and gets to the other end.
Khaleel Ahmed is brought back on. They are trying everything now. Can the debutant deliver?
Time for Drinks! 17 overs to go and Hong Kong need another 119. Game on here! They have 10 wickets in hand and one would feel they are favourites. But due to lack of experience in their squad, you can say it is 50-50. It is all about Hong Kong keeping their nerve. Can they do so or do India have different ideas? We will find out after the break.

Well bowled! Probably this is the line they should be bowling to Khan! Slower through the air outside off, it pitches and turns away. Nizakat tries to force it through the off side but misses.

Yuzvendra Chahal To Nizakat Khan
NOT OUT! Anshuman is in! Chahal tosses this up on middle, it turns away. Nizakat tries to drive but gets an outside edge towards short third man. The batsmen go for a run. Kuldeep scores a direct hit at the striker's end. The players appeal and it has been taken upstairs. Replays roll in and they show Rath has made it in with a dive. Yes, his bat did come out of his hand but that after he came inside the crease.
A direct hit and is Rath short? Well, he seems to be relaxed but you never know with direct hits.

SIX! Ideal start to the over! 13 from the last over and now maximum to begin this one. Short and on middle, Rath has all the time in the world, to go back, pick his spot and send it over the mid-wicket fence for a biggie.
