Dhaka Dominators, well, it was the same old problem for them. Their batters just could not post a good total on a flat deck with only Usman Ghani fighting it out in the middle. With the ball, they tried hard once again and Salman Irshad got a big wicket of Naim early. They kept things in control till the 14th over as they chipped in with wickets regularly. However, the 15th over went for 14 runs and that meant that the required rate which was never very threatening came down to almost run-a-ball. Al-Amin Hossain provided some hope of a miracle with a wicket of Mahedi Hasan at the backend but it was all little too late and Dhaka Dominators have ended up a losing side once again.
Rangpur Riders won the toss earlier and started on a bright note with ball as Azmatullah Omarzai bowled brilliantly with the new ball and spinners too did their job pretty well to restrict Dhaka under 150. With the bat, they did lose Naim early but Mahedi Hasan was in an aggressive mood and stitched an important second-wicket stand of 63 for the second wicket. There was a bit of stutter in the middle overs but Mahedy Hasan played a blinder with 72 off 43 balls and then Nawaz and Azmatullah Omarzai finished things off with one over to spare.
Rangpur Riders have notched up an important win here. They were put under pressure in patches throughout this game but overall it has been a convincing performance from the Riders and they have now got their third win in a row. Dhaka Dominators, on the other hand, tried hard but were once again below-par with the bat and that made the difference in the end.
