Niroshan Dickwella, the skipper of Dambulla Giants, says that it was unfortunate for him to get out on the first ball, but he wanted the team to win. Adds that it has been a great tournament, but it has not been easy to play on these wickets and major part belonged to the bowlers and today also the wicket really helped the seamers. Concludes by saying that, they are enjoying the tournament.
Angelo Mathews, the skipper of Colombo Stars, says that it was a good wicket. Tells that they were 20 runs short. Says that they were pathetic in the field and could have done much better. Mentions that he is proud of the way his team has performed.
Janith Liyanage is the  PLAYER OF THE MATCH! He says that the ball was not spinning much, he was thinking of rotating the strike and looking forward to win the game. Adds that the wicket is good to bat on and suits the fast bowlers as well. Concludes by saying that he was nervous, but he wanted to do his best.

Colombo Stars got off to a dream start as Dushmantha Chameera struck on the first ball of the innings. Then, the spinners did a good job of keeping things tight as both Seekkuge Prasanna and Jeffrey Vandersay got a wicket each. However, they failed to break the partnership between Najibullah Zadran and Janith Liyanage and gave away their momentum. Their bowlers leaked runs after the halfway mark and the Stars were very sloppy in the field which cost them the game.
Dambulla Giants did lose a wicket on the first ball of the innings but it was Philip Salt and Janith Liyanage who steadied the ship and they batted very sensibly after the Giants lost a couple of wickets in the Powerplay. Salt perished while he tried to change gears but the young man, Janith Liyanage carried on in his merry way and played a very mature innings. He also brought up his second fifty of the tournament and he was well supported by Najibullah Zadran who came in at number 3 and eased the pressure off Janith Liyanage by hitting a couple of lusty blows. Zadran did get out in the end but the damage had already been done. In the end, it was Liyanage and Chamika Karunaratne who saw their team through and the Giants won the match with 7 balls to spare.
WOW! What a finish to this Eliminator! Janith Liyanage, you beauty! Dambulla Giants go through to the Qualifier 2 while the Colombo Stars are knocked out of the tournament!
