Chattogram Challengers had an excellent game with the bat but they failed to replicate it with the ball. Vijayakanth Viyaskanth was the best bowler for them while Curtis Campher was economical. Apart from these two, the rest were very ineffective and that disallowed Chattogram Challengers to assert any control. They have now faced five defeats in a row and their campaign is going nowhere.
It was a daunting chase for Sylhet Strikers but they planned it strategically. Najmul Hossain Shanto extended his good form and notched up yet another fifty. He was involved in a couple of handy stands with Towhid Hridoy and Mushfiqur Rahim and then Rahim dropped in the anchor once Shanto departed. The real differential was Ryan Burl's 16-ball 41 that stole the limelight and momentum away from the opposition.
Comprehensive win for Sylhet Strikers! They have won with two overs to spare. What a turnaround in this chase! This game was tightly poised at one stage and was hanging in the balance. 58 runs were needed off 36 balls and then Ryan Burl decided to cut loose. He took Mohammad Nihaduzzaman to the cleaners and hammered 29 runs from the 15th over to bring down the required rate under 6. Thereafter, it was a walk in the park for the Strikers and they achieved the target despite losing Burl.
