Right then. Bangladesh have started the series with a good win. It was not as dominant as they usually get but nevertheless it is a win. All the 4 T20Is will be played at this same venue and the next one will be played on Sunday, 17th January, 2016 at 1430 IST (0900 GMT). Do join us then. Adios! Take Care!
HAMILTON MASAKADZA has been named the MAN OF THE MATCH for his 53-ball 79. Looks disappointed and feels that he could have added another 10 or 15 to the score. Says that the wickets are usually good over here, generating high-scoring games and tonight was no different. Does not want to blame his other batsmen for not staying around him, as the plan was for himself to stay till the end. Feels that a lot of good young guys are coming into the side and this is the time when they should prove themselves. Reckons that the future is bright for Zimbabwe.
Victorious Bangladesh captain MASHRAFE MORTAZA feels it was a clinical batting display. But reckons that bowling could have been better. Credits the batting as a blinder, praising Shakib, Tamim and Sabbir. Admits that at one stage, Zimbabwe were looking at somewhere around 180 but his bowlers came back well. Ends by saying that he is pleased with the win but wants his side to be prepared for tougher challenges ahead in this series.
Zimbabwean skipper Elton Chigumbura feels his team did well with the bat but could not have a settled batsman at the end who could finish things up. Praises Bangladesh for their bowling at the death. Credits the return of experienced players in his side but laments the inability to finish an innings well. Also rues some missed chances in the field and reckons that Zimbabwe could have won. Praises his bowlers for doing well in trying to defend 163.
Zimbabwe's misery continues. Even against Afghanistan in the UAE, they showed potential of being able to do well but failed to close out games. When Bangladesh lost Mahmudullah, they needed 27 from 19 balls with the game still open. But the Rhodesians could not close it.
Then came the Bangladeshi hero, Shakib. He held one end up and ensured his team crossed the line. The visitors were good in parts, with Wellington Masakadza picking up 1/25 in 4 overs. Sean Williams was decent as well but the rest went for a lot of runs.
Zimbabwe started the chase well, getting Sarkar early, albeit they got it on a platter. The hosts then started to play some carefree cricket, which resulted in some runs along with a few wickets. Sarkar and Rahim staged a partnership but the visitors came back, picking up wickets in a heap.
2016 begins on a good note for Bangladesh. They would have been pumped up with the way they came back towards the end of the Zimbabwean innings and the momentum worked in the hosts' favour. It was not an easy chase though.

FIVE WIDES! A shocking way to end the game. Jongwe bowls this miles down the leg side, attempting to follow Shakib, but the ex-skipper is smarter and lets it go. It is too wide for the keeper and the ball speeds through to the fine leg fence! BANGLADESH WIN BY 4 WICKETS AND TAKE A 1-0 LEAD!

That's a fine shot! The bowler follows the batsman down the leg side, Shakib still manages to make some room and whacks it past the point fielder. They take a couple of runs. Poor throw from the deep, at the bowler's end and the bowler is not aware of it. An extra run taken.
