That's the end! England might have won the series but we all know both teams are playing for the big cause. Australia will look for a morale-boosting win in the last match while England will look to clean-sweep. The 3rd T20I is on the 14th of this month. Join us at 1.40 pm IST (8.10 am GMT) and earlier for the build up. Till then, cheers!
Dawid Malan is the Player of the Match for his match-winning performance. He says It is always good to score runs and get away with a win. States he did not have a great Big Bash but it helped him learn. He hopes he can keep scoring runs.
Jos Buttler, the skipper of England says they showed great character and Dawid Malan was brilliant. Adds Malan has been consistent and he has done it far too consistently. Mentions Sam Curran wants to be there during the tough moments and he bowled brilliantly to Tim David who is tough to bowl.
Aaron Finch, the skipper of Australia says the fielding was the difference. States they were sloppy after taking 4 early wickets. Credits Tim David and says the more he plays, the more he'll learn. Adds Josh Hazlewood is as good as anyone with the new ball and they can bowl whenever the team wants.
...Presentation coming up...
Australia lost too many wickets earlier on. Maxwell, Warner and Finch failed to contribute a lot. Marsh and Stoinis then revived the innings. Stoinis fell but Marsh continued with David. There was a time when Australia were on top but wickets at regular intervals just kept making it tough for them and in the end, they fell short. However, it was the fielding and the bowling at the backend that didn't help Australia. Far too mnay runs were given in the last 10 overs.
England were brilliant in the Powerplay. Curran was brilliant throughout. David Willey too would be happy with the way he bowled. Reece Topley was a little expensive toward the end. Jordan and Rashid though did not have the best of nights. The key for England was they always manage to get a wicket whenever the game was drifting away. Also, credit to Buttler who was brilliant with his captaincy.
We did mention that the knock from Dawid Malan could be a potential match winning one and it indeed is. Without a doubt, it is his innings which is the difference between the two sides. Almost 180 on this wicket was never going to be easy to chase and English bowlers were excellent too.
What a game in the end but it is Sam Curran for two games in a row who has proven to be the hero for the visitors and England have sealed the series with a game to go. Simply outstanding by them.
