Earlier in the game, the rain shortened the game to a 11-over contest. South Africa Women Under-19 scored a total of 91 runs. They began well, with openers showing good form, but the game shifted after Lourens was dismissed for 21. Jemma Botha played aggressively, scoring 32, but her dismissal in the 8th over was crucial and led to a struggle for momentum. New Zealand's bowlers, especially Ayaan Lambat, significantly impacted the innings, taking three vital wickets.
On the other end, the Proteas bowlers took a bit of time to draw the first blood, but when they got the taste of the blood after picking their first wicket in the fifth over, they started picking the scalps on a regular event. Kayla Reyneke and Monalisa Legodi were exceptional with their spell and bagged three and two wickets, respectively, in their account, which helped the side to seal the deal.
An all-round performance from South Africa Women Under-19! New Zealand Women Under-19 batters failed to make things happen like they wanted. Emma McLeod gave a good start from one end but failed to get any support on the other end. She too was dropped twice in the initial overs and she went on to score 34 but departed in the 7th over. Trails of wickets fell and no batter was able to put up a hefty partnership as they ultimately lost the game by 22 runs.
