Earlier in the day, Pakistan could have got much more than what they eventually got on the board but credit to the Kiwi bowlers who pulled it back in the death overs. So, New Zealand have sealed both the T2OIs as well as the ODIs whereas Pakistan faded away after a good start in the inaugural T20I match of the tour. They can take some positives from this tour as they managed to give some exposure to youngsters.
Once the game resumed, Anderson had luck in his favour and he along with Ronchi did the required damage by hitting a few maximums to ease the pressure. The game though was taken into the last over but Santner kept his calm and helped his team cross the line. Pakistan's bowlers did a good job but it didn't prove to be their day. Mohammad Amir and Azhar Ali had a wonderful time with the leather as they picked up 4 wickets between them, while Malik, Riaz and Irfan had one each to their name.
The duo then departed quickly as Azhar Ali the skipper took the charge and showed them the way to pavilion. NZ then were in a spot of bother as they lost Nicholls and Elliott thereafter. The rain gods then had their time and the game was stopped for almost an hour. The revised target set for the home side was 263 from 43 overs, meaning the Kiwis now needed 53 from 7.3 overs.
So, New Zealand have chased down a huge total with utmost ease and with that they have not only bagged the series 2-0 but also have kept their streak alive at home. They haven't lost a single ODI series at home since October, 2014. Coming to the chase, after McCullum departed for a golden duck, Guptill and Williamson did what Hafeez and Babar did for Pakistan. They took their time to settle down and then started to counter-attack. In the process they made a record second wicket stand of 159 runs for NZ against Pakistan in this format.

This game might have just opened up again, courtesy Pakistan's skipper, Azhar Ali who got two big wickets in a jiffy. He dismissed Guptill and then Williamson followed him.
