Kandy Warriors bowlers had a tough task in front of them but credit to them that they chipped in with wickets in the first five overs. But once Thisara Perera came in, it became very difficult for bowlers to keep a check on the scoring rate and it meant that Kandy Warriors were handed another defeat. Jaffna Kings, on the other hand, are looking in red-hot form and backed up a disciplined bowling performance earlier in the day with another strong batting display.
A rain-curtailed game and with the firepower Jaffna Kings have in their lineup they were always going to be favourites. A positive start in the first two overs was followed by a couple of wickets in the next few overs. But the required run-rate was never out of their reach and in the end, the experienced duo of Shoaib Malik and Thisara Perera completed the chase with not much fuss in the end. They win by seven wickets!
