Wahab Riaz, the skipper of Deccan Gladiators, says that the guys played really well and that gives them confidence. Adds that he bowled his lines and lengths and got the wickets in the first over.
Tom Moores is the PLAYER OF THE MATCH! He says that it was actually good to perform as he did. Adds that Russell helped him a lot and gave him a lot of advice in the middle, as he has experience of playing on these wickets. Says he just tried to hit the ball as far as he could. It was a pretty good bowling show by Deccan Gladiators. Wahab Riaz led from the front and picked up two big wickets in the first over to put the opposition on the back foot. The rest of the bowlers did take a beating at the hands of Bopara and Perera but Deccan Gladiators had a big total on the board and that helped them a lot. Overall, they would be happy with their show but would want to improve on their bowling moving forward.
The Chennai Braves would have wanted a flying start but losing Mohammad Shahzad and Bhanuka Rajapaksa in the first over of the chase was a big blow for them. Angelo Perera and Ravi Bopara then took things over. They took their time to get going, but once they did, these two batters found the boundaries at regular intervals. But despite that, the required run rate kept creeping up and they found it tough to deal with it. Bopara and Perera got their fifties but The Chennai Braves fell short by 24 runs.
A thumping win for Deccan Gladiators and they have deserved it! They had a massive score on the board and have bowled quite well to defend it. The Chennai Braves did give it their all with the bat but the target was too big for them to scale.
