The skipper, Shakib Al Hasan earlier displayed some brilliant effort with the blade and continued to impress with the ball as well. Later, the bowlers kept chipping up wickets at regular intervals and they never let Comilla Victorians have a sniff. Nayeem Hasan was the pick of the bowler with his three wickets. Dwayne Bravo bagged two while Najmul Hossain Shanto took a wicket.
Comilla Victorians dug themselves into a hole by losing early wickets at the top. Liton Das was the one who accelerated the innings with his 19 but could not get much support from the other end. One wrong decision by him costed him his wicket. At the end of Powerplay, Comilla Victorians were at 35/3. Some batters failed to convert their good start, while some never got going. This was a dismal batting display by Comilla Victorians.
