Kerala is elated with the BCCI allowing the Kochi franchise to participate in the fourth edition of the Indian Premier League.
The Kerala Cricket Association (KCA) Secretary, T C Mathew said the development was a very happy news for Kerala cricket. "We are ready with infrastructure and we are prepared to welcome the team. The association was happy that the issues between the different members in the Kochi franchise had been sorted out", he said.
Mathew said he had already communicated to the BCCI that Kerala was prepared to host some of the IPL matches.
On December 11, a special BCCI meeting is being held at Mumbai, where, Mathew said, he would discuss with the BCCI and the Kochi franchisees about hosting some matches in the state.
Speedster S Sreesanth said he was very happy that the Kochi team would be playing in the IPL 4. He also expressed his desire to play for the team that represents his state.
"I want to be a part of the Kochi IPL and I want to part of good team", he said. However, he also said that his selection depended on the outcome of the players auction.
