India beat England by 38 runs on Duckworth-Lewis method in the fifth one-dayer at Leeds on Sunday, trailing the series 2-3.
Sourav Ganguly, who scored 59 runs and bagged two wickets, was named Man of the Match.
Chasing a revised target, England was 242 for eight in 39 overs, with Paul Collingwood batting on 91 runs and James Anderson unbeaten on one when the match was called off due to rain.
Earlier, butter-fingered India carried on their poor show on the field yet again and dropped crucial catches early on as Matt Prior was dropped on one off Zaheer Khan by Sachin Tendulkar at first slip in the third over.
In the very next over, Ian Bell got a lifeline as he was dropped on one by Ganguly at second slip off Agarkar.
MS Dhoni, though, managed to hold on to an edge in the same over as India got their first breakthrough in the form of Alastair Cook.
Bell and Prior led the charge and put England well on course with a significant 90-run partnership for the second wicket.
India were at the receiving end of some serious treatment from Prior and Bell when the former was done in courtesy a brilliant piece of stumping by Dhoni off Ganguly's bowling. Prior scored 46 off 45 deliveries, which consisted of four hits to the fence.
India got a further pumping as Zaheer struck in the very next over to send back the dangerous Kevin Pietersen for a duck.
Ganguly struck again in his consecutive over to end Bell's fiery knock as he had the England batsman caught behind for 44 which came off just 38 deliveries to bring India back into the game.
Fine knocks by Sachin, Sourav and Yuvraj
Earlier, brilliant half centuries by Tendulkar and Yuvraj Singh propelled India to 324 for six in 50 overs after being put in to bat by England captain Collingwood.
Facing a must win situation, Indian openers Tendulkar and Ganguly got India off to a cracking start with a 116-run opening partnership.
Tendulkar, particularly played some glorious cuts and drives to reach his 82nd ODI fifty. He went on rampage as he hit eight boundaries enroute his half century. His blitzkrieg was, however cut short when Jon Lewis got him caught behind for 71.
Ganguly too was in fine touch and scored a 59 off 79 deliveries, which included seven boundaries and two towering sixes. He fell to Monty Panerar in an attempt to loft him over mid wicket where Cook took a clean running catch.
Despite the loss of both the openers, runs came thick and fast for India as Singh and Gautam Gambhir continued to deal in boundaries.
Yuvraj played a sizzling knock and bludgeoned Panesar for a huge six to bring up his 30th ODI fifty.
Gambhir too joined the party as he slashes Stuart Broad for a four to reach his 5th half century in one-day cricket before falling to the same bowler two balls later.
