According to Awana, Yadav approached him angrily and refused to listen to his request to attend to his phone call. "I requested him to allow me to talk and assured him I would drive away within minutes. He told me he would issue a challan. When I agreed and pulled down the window, Yadav punched me in the middle of my neck. Even as I gasped for breath, he punched me again in the same place," Awana is quoted as saying by the Times of India.
"I got an urgent phone call from my family. Being a law-abiding person, I parked my car opposite GIP mall and was talking over the phone. The policeman asked me to move the car immediately," he added.
The constable was soon suspended after the incident but Awana has not filed an FIR against him.
