England Champions have done their job and will end the day in fourth spot. However, they have to rely on India, surprisingly, in a couple of days when they take on West Indies and hope they beat them. Today, England Champions got the job done. Thanks to a blistering century from Ravi Bopara and a couple of cameos from Moeen Ali and Samit Patel, England Champions set up a humongous total on the board. Later, they had the runs to play with and started well with the ball. Ryan Sidebottom was superb in his opening spell and put India under pressure, which helped them to stay ahead in the game. England managed to pick wickets regularly which didn't allow India to get away with big partnerships.

India let themselves down in the Powerplay. Scoring just 35 runs and losing two wickets. India were slow to take off but once Stuart Binny walked to the middle, the momentum shifted as his 35 off 13 balls got India back on track. Still, a long way to go, but his innings provided the much-needed energy India were looking for. Yusuf Pathan took over the baton after Binny fell and continued to chase the required run rate. However, with the pressure to chase such a big total, India lost the screws in the fag end of the innings and were beaten comprehensively.

Pheww! That was some effort from India but England Champions will be relieved that they have crossed the line. The points were important for them to stay alive in the tournament. India on the other hand, are at the bottom and mathematically still in the tournament but uncertain they'll make the next round.
