If there was one thing that stood out in World Cup memory, it was Harbhajan Singh doing the bhangra by the side of the boundary. After receiving the rousing welcome, he speaks to NDTV.
NDTV: Bhajji thanks so much for speaking to us. Congratulations. You really enjoyed that bhangra, didn't you?
Bhajji: I enjoy taking wickets, enjoy each and every moment of whatever we have done over there. Of course, (I) enjoyed the bhangra, enjoyed the way I bowled, enjoyed the way we celebrated our victory.
NDTV: Even on the bus, you were doing a bhangra.
Bhajji: Obviously. It's a time to celebrate. We must (celebrate).
NDTV: Was it also very important for you, because this is now being seen as your comeback. There were doubts about your performance. After this (World Cup win), those doubts will be buried. Important at a personal level?
Bhajji: It was not just important for me, but also for the team, for everybody. I have taken lots and lots of wickets for county cricket. Then I was selected to play here. I am happy I am continuing with my form. I have taken lots of wickets in county and then 20-20. I am looking forward to play against Australia.
NDTV: You feel your role and space in the team is secured and you deserve it?
Bhajji: I think I have played enough cricket to deserve that. People know what I can do. I can bowl in tight situations. I can win games from tight situations. I have done it enough times. I am sure if I keep working hard at my game, I can do it again and again and again. I am still very young, just 27. Plenty of years to go. And I am looking forward to play major role in the team's success in the future.
NDTV: In the last over against Pakistan, Misbah-ul-Haq at the crease. He just hit a six. There were one billion hearts in the mouth. What about for you guys?
Bhajji: Obviously when he hit the six on the second ball, we thought all they need is another boundary and it is all over, but it was our day and by the grace of God we won the match and we won the World Cup.
I enjoyed every moment: Harbhajan
