South African speedster Dale Steyn reckoned Mahendra Singh Dhoni's wicket was a crucial breakthrough for his side as it prevented India from gaining a big lead on the penultimate day of the first cricket Test here on Saturday.
Steyn, who was the top wicket-taker for the visitors in the first innings claiming four for 103 runs, said Dhoni's dismissal was the best of his scalps.
"His is a big wicket. The way he plays, he can always take the game away from anybody. It was a key wicket. Kumble's also was a good one," Steyn said.
After restricting India to 627 in the first innings, Steyn drew huge satisfaction from his team's valiant fightback.
"Yesterday, Sehwag took the game away from us. Today our bowlers did well to stick to a good line and length besides restricting the scoring rate." Steyn, who maintained that the match was heading for a draw, said, "I hope the pitch for the next two Tests would be sporting ones".
