Indian ticketing major Kyazoonga.com is on the shortlist to bag the 3000-Crore Olympics ticketing contract for the Summer Games to be held in Rio 2016. Sources say Kyazoonga is among the top two-three selected from a pool of 18-20 global ticketing companies. (Click here for latest on Sports)
This is the first time an Indian company has reached the top echelons of servicing the Olympics at the highest levels. Olympics ticketing is the most complex ticketing programme in the world that can involve over 1000 concurrent ticketing sessions, over 20 million tickets and hundreds of millions of users and buyers from around the world. Planning and implementation typically begins two-three years in advance.
If selected, this will be Kyazoonga's second major international foray, the first being the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 in India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh and it will put it squarely in the top global ticketing league. Officials from the company declined to comment.
Kyazoonga, which set up operations in India six years ago, is co-founded by Neetu Bhatia, Arpita Majumder and Akash Bhatia.
