Chennai Super Kings reclaimed the top-spot in IPL 2015 points table with an unlikely win against Royal Challengers Bangalore who imploded in their chase. The following are the highlights from the match. (SCORECARD | POINTS TABLE | STATISTICS)
(All times in IST)
Bangalore were 97/3 in 14 overs and were looking extremely strong. Chennai then turned the tables and bundled out the side for 124.
It is all over. That would be one of the most dramatic batting collapses ever. From when Kohli and Karthik were batting to 124, the visitors crumbled shamefully. Credit to Chennai for not giving up and playing like the champions they are made out to be. Superb effort which sees the side reclaim top spot in IPL 2015.

1940: Out! This match is as good as over with Wiese falling on 17 to Bravo.
1938: Out! Starc falls to Mohit. Bangalore now need a mammoth 25 off the final over.
1935: 2nd match update: Hyderabad opt to field against Kolkata. Get the latest here.
1930: Out! Bangalore collapsing like a pack of cards here. Nehra has one more as Harshal Patel tries to dig out a full delivery, only to edge it to Dhoni. The bowler finishes with three wickets to extend lead in list of wicket-takers.

1926: Out! The pressure was building and Sarfaraz pays the price for letting it get to him. The youngster pulls Nehra - the highest wicket-taker in IPL 8 so far - and finds Smith at the boundary.
1924: Dhoni is moving his fielders constantly. He seems to want to unsettle the new batsmen.
1920: This is exactly why Chennai have been the strong force in IPL cricket. Just when it looked like Kohli and Karthik were running away with the match, their wickets have brought Chennai back in to the match. Kohli and Karthik put on 63 runs for the fourth wicket. All eyes are now on Sarfaraz Khan and Wiese.
1918: Out! That's two wickets for Chennai in quick succession. Karthik (23) pulls but finds Smith at deep square leg.
1916: Out! Unbelievable reflexes from Bravo. Kohli steps out to play a forward defensive shot. The bowler jumps to collect it and throws it back and the stumps to leave a diving Kohli bewildered.
1914: Interestingly, Chennai were 97/3 after 13.5 overs. Bangalore are 97/2 at the same stage.
1910: Dhoni has used six bowlers so far. Pandey has claimed both wickets that have fallen so far. Apart from him, no other bowler has looked like taking any wickets either. That is how well Kohli and Karthik have batted.
1855: Kohli has switched gears. He is targeting the slower bowlers and has whacked Jadeja for a few boundaries.

1840: Kohli and Dinesh Karthik repair the damage. Both are batting with the proper amount of caution to put the chase back on track.
1828: Out! Mandeep Singh is run out even without facing a delivery. He was the man who won Bangalore their match against Kolkata but today, he will have to go home without much personal joy. Excellent work from Dhoni who collected the ball clean and knocked off the bails in the time it takes to bat an eyelid.
You just can't run a sneaky single of our fielding! There goes wicket number three! #CSK #IdhuNammaSeason #whistlepodu

1825: Out! De Villiers' fireworks end as Pandey celebrates his second success. The batsman looked to drive a low full toss but found compatriot du Plessis at mid off. His innings ends on 14-ball 21.
1814: De Villiers has joined Kohli in the middle and has hit two fours off the first four deliveries.
1812: Out! Ishwar Pandey strikes and CSK fans are on their feet. Maddinson gives the charge but misses the full toss completely. The ball hits the stumps and the batsman takes just four runs from this innings.

1805: Kohli and Maddinson open the innings for Bangalore. This chase should not test the side too much but Chennai are unlikely to go down without a stiff fight.
1748: Chennai Super Kings post 148/9 vs Royal Challengers Bangalore. Despite Suresh Raina's crucial half-century, MS Dhoni's men have been restricted to a modest total. RCB pacer Mitchell Starc led from the front with figures of 3/24 while India's Harshal Patel did the most damage, getting rid of Raina at a crucial juncture of the Chennai innings. Harshal finished with figures of 2/19. David Wiese too was amongst the wickets, returning with 3/29, picking up the quintessential wicket of MS Dhoni, who looked set to blaze away in the end. Despite the absence of Chris Gayle, the top-heavy Bangalore side should see this chase through and consolidate their no. 3 spot in the points table. As for Chennai, Dhoni will turn to his strike bowler Ashish Nehra to do the trick for him again. Fascinating chase on the cards.
1735: Out! MS Dhoni takes the aerial route but can't clear Mitchell Starc at long-off. David Wiese gets his second wicket. Dhoni goes for 29. CSK 144/6 (19 overs)
1732: Out! Jadeja decides to do what his captain was doing at the other end. He however fails to get the required power and his pull finds Kohli at deep midwicket.
1729: Dhoni has quickly moved to 15 off 11. It is fantastic to see how Kohli is trying to place the field in a way that Bangalore can contain Dhoni. The two have played together for quite some time and know each other quite well.
1719: Raina is gone! What a massive wicket for the RCB! Harshal Patel comes round the stumps and traps Raina LBW. He departs for a well-made 52. CSK 101/4 (15 overs)
1716: Skipper MS Dhoni joins Raina in the middle with a little over five overs to go. Fireworks time in Chennai?
1715: Bowled! Harshal Patel strikes for RCB. Faf du Plessis has played a full delivery onto his stumps. He departs for 24. CSK 98/3 (14.1 overs)
1711: Raina completes his 25th IPL fifty off 44 balls! Entire Chepauk stands up to applaud the effort.

1705: Raina slams Chahal over deep mid wicket to storm into the 40s. Did you know the following statistic?
Most 30+ scores in IPL cricket - Raina 45, Rohit 43, Kohli 41, Gambhir and Uthappa 40.
1659: Kohli seems to have done some harm to his knee. He fields the ball of his own bowling but the he landed on his right knee while diving. Physio comes out, takes a look, sprays the knee and walks back. All fine once again.

1657: Boundaries have dried up with Bangalore dictating the terms at the moment. Such is the audacity that captain Kohli decides to bring himself into the attack.
1654: After 10 overs, Chennai 68/2. Relatively quite performance from the side known to hit big through the course of their innings. Raina and du Plessis though are sure to step up in the overs to come.
1650: They may be competing hard on the field but before the match, Chennai and Bangalore players were busy coochie cooing Dhoni's daughter:

1644: Raina unleashes his full fury against Abdulla's spin. He spanks the bowlers for three fours after du Plessis had already smashed him for a six. Chennai get a move on and the local fans are screaming their support.
1638: The scoring rate has dipped quite a bit since McCullum left. Du Plessis is known to take his time before switching gears but even Raina has curbed his attacking instincts.
1628: Out! That's the end of McCullum (20) who tries to whack a ball over deep midwicket but fails to time it properly. Epic celebrations from Wiese - the bowler - as Bangalore players engulf him in joy.
1625: Star wars indeed! How's this for artwork?

1620: McCullum and Raina continue to get the boundaries. Chennai innings on the move. Dhoni would be happy with the fiery batting display so far, especially since he had recently asked his players to be even more aggressive than usual. "Looking at where we are in the table, I think it's important we try to be a bit more aggressive, see what we can explore and how we can play," he has said recently. (Read full report here)

1615: Raina decides to attack as well! He takes on David Wiese - greets him with a confident shot towards widish long off.
1612: McCullum goes on the attack. Losing his opening partner has not had any effect on him. The Kiwi smashes Starc for two fours to show that there won't be any change in his aggressive style of play today. The fast outfield will further assist him.
1608: Kohli brings in Yuzvendra Chahal's spin for the second over. Suresh Raina has replaced Smith in the middle. He is another CSK batsman who has scored more than 200 runs in IPL 8 so far.
1607: Did you know? There have been six IPL matches which have begun with a wicket-maiden. Today is the second time it has happened with Chennai batting first.
1605: Out! Fantastic first over from Starc. He bowls a maiden but the icing on the cake is a perfect delivery that was fullish and came back just a bit to rattle the stumps. Smith has to walk back on a duck.
Five of Starc's deliveries shaped away from the batsman but the final ball came back slightly to break Smith's defense. The fact that it was bowled fast further added to the batsman's woes.

1555: Brendon McCullum and Dwayne Smith will open the innings for Chennai. The two have been in ruthless form so far in the IPL. While the Kiwi has amassed 295 runs at an average of 36.87, Smith has smashed 274 runs. They will face Mitchell Starc - a bowler who has been quite effective for Bangalore. The Aussie pacer has claimed eight wickets so far and is eager to add to the tally.
1550: Weather update: It is currently 34C in Chennai. The humidity is at 63% and sea breeze towards the evening will only improve the playing conditions.

1540: Who is Maddinson? The 23-year-old Aussie is a formidable opening batsman who has played some quality knocks Down Under. He was among the top five Big Bash scorers in the last season and made his international debut in a T20 against India in 2013.

1534: Bangalore rest Chris Gayle today. Nic Maddinson replaces the Jamaican while spinner Iqbal Abdulla comes in for Varun Aaron. Chennai bring back Ishwar Pandey.
Squads:
Chennai: McCullum, Smith, Raina, du Plessis, Bravo, Jadeja, Dhoni, Negi, Mohit, Nehra and Pandey.
Bangalore: Kohli, Maddinson, de Villiers, Mandeep, Wiese, Karthik, Khan, Patel, Starc, Chahal and Abdulla.
1530: Toss! Chennai Super Kings win and Dhoni opts to bat first. "We well look to put up a solid total," he says. Kohli says he would have chosen to bat first as well. "We were looking to set a target too but now we have a challenge and have to overcome it."

Mahendra Singh Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings have not lost a single IPL 8 game this season at their home ground. After back-to-back defeats, the former champions will hope to arrest this slide at their favourite hunting ground. A victory will take CSK to the top of the table alongside Rajasthan Royals.
Royal Challengers Bangalore, probably the most glamourous team in IPL 8, are currently third in the standings and Virat Kohli's men are on a high having won their last three matches, two of them with consummate ease. Having lost the first leg to CSK at Chinnaswamy, Monday's contest will be a grudge game for RCB. Kohli loves these situations.
Man-to-man, both CSK and RCB have the arsenal to challenge each other. If RCB have a Chris Gayle, CSK have Dwayne Smith. If Bangalore have the dangerous AB De Villiers or a Kohli, can anyone ignore Brendon McCullum or Suresh Raina?
This could be a real a high scoring contest like the first-leg where CSK scored in excess of 180 runs and won by 27 runs. RCB missed Gayle in the first leg contest on April 22. The Jamaican, if he wakes up fit, will surely be the first man on Kohli's playing XI.

Bowlers on both sides will have to play crucial roles. Mitchell Starc has added bite to RCB's attack. The World Cup-winning Aussie pacer has picked eight wickets from four matches and has a great economy rate - 5.78. Leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal is RCB's leading bowler with 11 wickets and demands respect.
CSK will also bank on their pace-spin combo with veteran Ashish Nehra being the team's strike bowler with 14 wickets from nine matches. Dhoni badly needs a fit-again Ravichandran Ashwin today. His injured fingers has certainly cost CSK some crucial points on the road.
Although records have no significance, CSK lead RCB 11-7 in head-to-heads, with one no result. More importantly, Chennai have a 5-1 win-loss record against RCB at home.
