Madrid:
FC Barcelona won a Spanish record 16th straight game on Wednesday, trouncing third-division Zamora 6-0 in a second-leg game of the Copa del Rey's fifth round.
Since a 3-3 draw with Deportivo La Coruna on October 15, Barcelona has won 11 league games, three in the European Champions League and two in the Copa del Rey to surpass Real Madrid's streak set in the 1960-61 season.
Henrik Larsson scored twice, and Santi Ezquerro, Thiago Motta, Mark van Bommel and Maxi Lopez added a goal apiece at the Camp Nou to send the Spanish league champion into the quarterfinals on a 9-1 aggregate score.
Other teams to advance to the last eight of Spain's knockout competition were defending champion Betis, Valencia, Deportivo La Coruna, Espanyol and Cadiz.
On Thursday, Real Madrid hosts Athletic Bilbao with a 1-0 first-leg lead. (AP)
