Delhi Capitals vs Gujarat Giants Highlights, WPL 2025: Jess Jonassen hammered her maiden half-century as Delhi Capitals capitalized on superb bowling by their pacers to beat Gujarat Giants by six wickets in their Women's Premier League (WPL) 2025 match at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium on Tuesday. Chasing a below-par target of 128, Jonassen made the most of being promoted to bat at No.3 as she blazed to 61 not out off 32 balls while Shafali Verma struck a 27-ball 44 to help Delhi Capitals reach 131/4 in 15.1 overs to win the match with 29 balls to spare. It was their bowlers who made the victory possible as Marizanne Kapp and Shikha Pandey both claimed a couple of wickets in an over each to land early blows while Annabel Sutherland bagged two in the middle overs as Gujarat Giants were restricted to a modest 127/9 despite a late charge by Bharti Fulmani, who struck 40 not out off 29 balls. Can’t really blame the Gujarat bowlers, they just didn’t have enough on the board. They began well with the ball but couldn’t keep it and they were beaten quite easily. Kashvee Gautam was really impressive. She made most of the new ball but others lost all hope very early on. It is their batting once again which will take the headlines. It's worrying now. They have not been able to fire. Laura Wolvaardt was dropped today but got no returns from her replacement, Phoebe Litchfield. A lot to ponder upon for Gujarat who remains at the root of the table.

An easy win for Delhi then! They go on top of the table. The total Gujarat got was never going to be a challenge! They lost a couple early but Verma and Jess Jonassen put up a stand which killed the game. Verma fell just short of her fifty but the others came in and finished it off. Jess Jonassen though was the mainstay. She was promoted up the order to play the right-left combination and it paid the dividends. It won't be a surprise if Jess Jonassen nails the spot for herself from now on.
